A female magnate who rubbed shoulders with the likes of Hillary Clinton and Rita Ora has reportedly died after falling from her penthouse with her five-month-old daughter in her arms. Luo Lili may have ended her and her daughter's lives while suffering from post-natal depression, officials in Hong Kong believe. Local media reported how the rich socialite was found with her infant daughter at the bottom of a block of apartments.

While authorities did not reveal who the biological father was, Luo reportedly confirmed on social media that she was a single mother shortly before her tragic death. People of Hong Kong were shocked at the news that such a wealthy and successful entrepreneur could have committed suicide, The Sun reported.

According to the British newspaper, the 34-year-old appeared contented and happy on social media in the days leading up to her demise. In fact, she had recently shared photos on Instagram with her baby daughter, saying she was a "gift from God." Luo Lili was reportedly the only daughter of Luo Lin, the chairman of the Chengdu real estate giant Jinlin Real Estate, and whose family has been an influential player in Chinese medicine for over six generations.

According to the report, Luo started her first business at the age of 28 and founded her most successful company TriBeluga in 2014, specializing in supporting budding entrepreneurs in China, South Korea, and the US.

Owing to her elite family, Luo got the best education and studied in America while also living in Switzerland and Australia. She had also been an active member of the Hong Kong society and shared photos on social media with Hillary Clinton and singer Rita Ora. One of her close friends was multiple-Olympic medallist Guo Jingjing.

The investigation into Luo Lili's mysterious death continues.

In August, MEAWW reported how a Russian financier -- married to a Turkish investment banker -- was found hanging alongside her dead son a day after they were reported missing. The tragic discovery was made on August 13, 2020, when Metropolitan Police broke into the £687,000 ($926,787) apartment on the Isle of Dogs in East London and found Yulia Gokcedag and her seven-year-old son Timur unresponsive in a suspected murder-suicide.

A missing report for the mother-son duo was filed on August 12. However, when police could not locate them, they broke into their flat at the Tower Hamlets around 3.20 am and found Yulia and the child dead. An autopsy report stated that they died because of hanging and drowning respectively, per The Daily Mail. According to the report, Yulia and investment banker Mehmet Gokcedag tied the knot in 2011 and moved to London a year later. They became parents of Timur in 2013, but it wasn't clear if the couple was still together prior to the deaths.

The 35-year-old woman’s LinkedIn profile stated that she was working as a financial data analyst at Moody's Investors Service before serving at Barclays as a community banker. Academic records on the account showed that Yulia had studied at the Moscow Institute of Finance and Economics at Financial Academy under the Government of Russian Federation before doing a foundation program at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
