Fayetteville shooting: 1 dead, 4 injured in shooting in hookah bar's parking lot
FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: An altercation inside a hookah bar in Fayetteville escalated and turned out into a fatal shooting in the establishment's parking lot. In the incident, 1 person died, and four were reportedly injured during the Sunday night brawl. On April 2, 2023 at approximately 10:55 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 5000 block of Yadkin Road for reports of a shooting. Upon arriving on scene, officers located an adult male who had died on scene from his injuries, Fayetteville Police said in its statement.
“There were four other adults that were transported to a local hospital. One is listed in critical condition and the others suffered from minor injuries as a result of the shooting,” it added. Authorities were responded to 911 calls that reported the shooting in the parking lot of the V Luxx Hookah Lounge, Fayetteville, as per ABC News. The police statement read, “The preliminary investigation revealed an altercation occurred inside of the establishment that resulted in a shooting in the parking lot.” The investigation is ongoing and officials asked any information related to the incident should be shared with Detective J Nevitt at (910) 703-3499 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).

'Suspect Mark Connole arrested'
In an unrelated event, another shooting occurred around 3.45 pm in a Trader Joe's parking lot in the West Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on April 1. The suspect fled in a red Honda, and a short chase ensued until the driver slowed down. He was then taken into custody. Taken in for suspected murder, the suspect, whose name is Mark Connole, is being kept in the Van Nuys County Jail. As per MEAWW, his bail was set at $2 million, while three people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries. A fourth person was declared dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
