Police officer under investigation for crimes against child found dead from apparent suicide

A North Carolina police officer who was facing criminal charges over alleged crimes against a juvenile was found dead in Wilson County on Sunday, 27 January. The officer was identified as 31-year-old Fayetteville deputy Wade Lane Lee Jr.
According to the Fayetteville Observer, the police department received a complaint against Lee late on Friday afternoon with a statement issued by the department confirming their Youth Services Unit initiated a criminal investigation against the 31-year-old and, as a result of their findings, had subsequently obtained warrants for his arrest.
