Father pulls 10-year-old out of school as 'greenie' teachers were brainwashing him into believing 'mankind caused climate change'

An Australian father has pulled his son out of a state primary school because his "greenie" teachers were brainwashing him and had asked him to "dress up like a hippie."

Matt Karlos, 38, decided his 10-year-old son Max should no longer attend classes at the Bilambil Public School in northern New South Wales last month because the teachers there were forcing the "green agenda" down everyone's throats, according to the Daily Mail.

He said it started with a few homework tasks that he found questionable, but that it went too far when they announced a dress-up day where Max's class would have to dress up as "a bunch of dole-bludging, drug-taking hippies who strap themselves to roads and do nothing with their lives."

Karlos said he called the school's principal about the event, explaining it was "inappropriate" and "giving him a hard time without swearing," but that it went nowhere. "The Greens have an arrogance about them," he insisted. "They think if you're not with them, you're for the destruction of the planet and you're completely against them."

The father-of-two said he was all for teaching children to respect the environment and "not be grubs" about it, but that he preferred if Max had been given an option to dress as a "hard-working Aussie."

"They should be dressing as farmers or laborers or people who work hard, not pushing the Green agenda—they should be learning about good agricultural practices and land management in farming."

Karlos has been involved in a heated battle with the local council over the family's water mining business, and said his son is a "pretty head-strong" boy who decided himself that he no longer wanted to go to Bilambil.

"There are about 50 of them on our road all the time, protesting against my family's water company—we go past them every day so Max knows what they're about, and he's not interested," he explained.

Max confirmed to Current Affair that he wanted nothing to do with fancy dress events. "They asked us to dress up like a hippie and sing this song, Big Yellow Taxi, but we shouldn't be worrying about the end of the world."

Karlos agreed with his son, and said, "The teachers are making the kids terrified of the future... They're scaring them by telling them mankind caused climate change. The ideologies were in his face all the time."
