Father kills children by forcing them to swallow construction foam to get revenge on wife who left him
A father has been sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday, May 26, for murdering his two children as he wanted to get revenge from their mother. Laurent F put building foam down the kids' throats to stop them from breathing, and also tried to kill his wife for leaving the family home.
The 55-year-old man who was born in France but lived in Dresden, Germany since 1992, has admitted to killing five-year-old Leo and two-year-old Maya in May 2019 after the trial started. Laurent, who is professionally a builder, was also convicted of the attempted murder of his ex-wife Marieta F, who was the mother of the two children. He will have to serve at least 20 years in prison.
According to reports, while living in Dresden, Laurent got into financial difficulties, due to which his ex-wife moved out of the family home. The court heard that the violent brute blamed his 27-year-old wife for his troubles and wanted revenge. He killed the two children while they were staying with him and after that, he also attempted to murder the children’s mother, Marieta.
On the day of the crime, Laurent, who was looking after the kids, took their pictures — Leo sitting on his bike and Maya licking ice cream. Shortly after that, he called his ex-wife and told her to come to his house and bring cuddly rabbit toys that Maya had left at her house. After convincing Marieta to come home, he took the children home and strangled them. He then forced insulation foam down their throats, sealing their airways.
The court was told that after the brutal murder, Laurent was not satisfied as he tucked the kids’ bodies into bed to make it seem as if they were sleeping, and waited for his ex-wife to turn up. When the children’s mother came several hours later, he refused to let her see them, saying they were in bed. His refusal then ensued an argument leading Laurent to hit her over the back of the head with a large stone.
However, Marieta survived the attack because she was wearing a wig and managed to crawl to the front door. Laurent then began strangling her until the fight was interrupted by a witness.
Prosecutor Till von Borries said: “The indictment alleges that on May 9, 2019, the building subcontractor strangled his two children Maya, 2, and Leo, 5, in his apartment until they were unconscious. In order to make sure that nobody was able to resuscitate them at the last minute, he then injected fast-acting construction foam into their mouths in order to close off their airways."
It has been reported that during the trial, Laurent was examined by psychologists, and was found to be an aggressive narcissist who showed a lack of empathy. However, experts ruled that he was psychologically capable enough to face sentencing.
Laurent was found guilty on two counts of murder, and one count of attempted murder while his previous convictions included rape, arson, and most recently drug smuggling when he was caught trying to take meth across the border from Poland in December 2018.
