'Fargo' Season 4 Episode 4 Promo: Loy's son Lemuel gets arrested, could Josto have planned it?
'Fargo' Season 4 Episode 4 sees Loy Cannon (Chris Rock) face a major obstacle as his son Lemuel (Matthew Elam), the boy who is interested in Jazz music gets arrested by cops. He is forced at home to do something about his son being jailed, and even as he claims that he "is taking care of it" no one in his family seems to believe in him or his ability to save Lemuel. Loy is extremely frustrated, but what will he do, and if it turns out that Josto is behind the arrest, what kind of revenge will Loy plan?
After all, he had struck Rabbi (Ben Whishaw) with a knife for even going forward with a plan that would harm Lemuel. Will he let Josto be if he found out a connection? We speculate that Josto (Jason Schwartzman) might be connected with this because he visits a few people in prison where he is probably set for a monologue that begins with why America loves its crime stories. He has a maniacal laugh as he attempts to explain America's perverse pleasure in reading about violence on other people, and he claims that this is what is America. Then there is a scene in the promo of men celebrating guns with song and dance and it's quite interesting.
The title of the episode 'The Birthplace of Civilization', also hints at another look at how America that claims to be the land of immigrants has natives who are hypocritic. However, what we are really interested in is Ethelrida Smutny (E'myri Crutchfield). What fate awaits her now that she has left a smoking gun in Oraetta's (Jessie Buckley) secret serial killer collection wardrobe is something that we cannot wait to see unravel. There is also the matter of how Loy will deal with Ethelrida's father Thurman Smutny. The man had after all given Loy the money that was stolen from Loy without rearranging the cash or removing the stench.
It was also clear that Loy had figured out the source of the money as well. Now, how he deals with the Smutnys and if they will be brought into the underworld of Kansas is something that would be interesting to watch. Then there is also the matter of Deafy (Timothy Olyphant) having found out Odis' (Jack Huston) connection to the Faddas as well. The two cops might go head to head and confront or Deafy might make use of Odis' connection as well. How the two of them begin to deal with this new development and if either of them was involved in Lemuel's arrest is also something that we wonder about.
'Fargo' season 4's new episodes air every Sunday at 10 pm ET on FX and can be streamed on Hulu.
