Gab mocked for 'The American Dream' picture with dog holding gun at BBQ, Internet asks 'want lead with steak'
Social media website Gab, known for its far-right users, took to Twitter to share a message about guns. The picture, which was posted on Saturday, went viral on the social networking site for the most bizarre reason.
Captioning the image in the tweet, "Our way of life must be preserved," Gab posted a photo of what seems like a white suburban family cooking on the grill in the open and a dog — with all of them carrying guns, even the dog.

As soon as Gab posted the image on Twitter, people started sharing and mocking it. There was also some confusion as to why the dog is armed along with the family.
"What the actual fuck is this why does the dog also have a gun," one asked while retweeting the image. "If you can’t arm your dog, it isn’t real freedom," a user tweeted mocking the picture. "This is literally no one's way of life," another user said.

The dog was the highlight of the picture, seemingly holding a gun without thumbs whatsoever. "the woke left is coming for my dog's gun," one tweeted. "I dunno, giving guns to children and doggos doesn't sound like it would lead to the preservation of any kind of life lmao," one said. "the American way of life: give your dog a gun and let him use it as a grill tool. it’s in the constitution," another user joked.

Pointing out some very substantial facts, one user said, "When you think about it, it makes total sense that the same person who created a buggy, d-grade social network for nazis thinks that “our way of life” includes a dog holding a gun with no opposable thumbs and a Dad using a glock as a spatula."

Social media users also criticized the idea behind the picture. "From the fascist website http://Gab.com A way of life in which the family & the dog are armed, father & son have no trigger discipline, the son is pointing a gun at his mom w/his finger on the trigger & there’s live ammo near a hot grill? Carry on! #DarwinismInAction," one user tweeted.

Turning to Gab, one tweeted, "You want some lead with that steak?" Also, I'll never not point out the irony of a "free speech network" blocking replies to their tweets." Another user said along the same lines, "Why does the free speech social networking block responses to their tweets?"

This went on until someone on Twitter pointed out the source of the picture. As it turns out, the image of the white suburban family holding guns like it is no big deal is actually the cover for the video game 'The American Dream', which is a satire about the gun culture in the nation. "This is art from a @samuraipunk videogame that satirizes American obsession with violence lmao," a user pointed out.

A few hours later, it looked like Gab wanted to reiterate the message and tweeted, "Our way of life must be preserved." But this time, the account posted two images of a white and a Black family holding guns.
