'Incredibly powerful striker': Fans thrilled as Carlos Ulberg knocks out Nicolae Negumereanu in UFC 281
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Carlos Ulberg defeated Nicolae Negumereanu in UFC 281 first round with Ulberg (6-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Negumereanu (13-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC). Ulberg has won three straight fights since losing his UFC debut in March 2021. Meanwhile, he is one of the major four City Kickboxing fighters, with teammates Brad Riddell, Dan Hooker, and Israel Adesanya on the card.
This match was Nicolae's second-longest in the UFC light heavyweight division behind Magomed Ankalaev, reports mmafighting.com. Ulberg's other victories in UFC were against Fabio Cherant and Tafon Nchukwi. However, Nicolae has lost four matches, and his previous loss came in his UFC debut against Saparberg Safarov.

Who is Carlos Ulberg?
Ulberg is originally known as Carlos Sao Murry Ulberg. He was born in New Zealand and attended Hillary College. While he was at college, he played rugby as well. In August 2015, Ulberg fought in his first professional boxing fight with Sam Rapira. However, Ulberg debuted in MMA in 2011 for the King of the Door promotion when he faced Kaota Puna. Meanwhile, he made his UFC debut on March 6, 2021 at UFC 259 and had Kennedy Nzechukwu as the opponent. He was the King in the Ring 100 kg Tournament Champion in 2017 and 2019 King in the Ring 92 kg Tournament Champion.
