LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The highly-anticipated erotic thriller has finally dropped on Netflix. 'Obsession' revolves around the affair of William and Anna in this four-episode series. William is a reputed surgeon while Anna is the fiance of William's son Jay. While the show's trailer promised a steamy and raunchy series, the results were not as good. It seems like Netflix tried too hard to give out 'Fifty Shades' franchise-type content but failed miserably.

'Obsession' has a total of 4 episodes and the series had both ups and downs. Netflix's 'Obsession' is directed by Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Leyburn and stars Richard Armitage as William Farrow and Charlie Murphy as Anna Barton as the main lead. The series also stars Rish Shah as Jay Farrow, Indira Varma as Ingrid, Sonera Angel as Sally Farrow, Anil Goutam as Edward, and Pippa Bennett-Warner as Peggy.

The hit and miss of Netflix's 'Obsession'

The mini-series took its inspiration from the infamous 'Damage' novel by Josephine Hart and Netflix's adaptation of 'Obsession' is one that has made drastic changes to the plot. Though many nudity and intimate scenes were spread throughout the show, true to the genre of choice, 'Obsession' fails to hit the mark on several aspects. While an erotic thriller is supposed to have a hot chemistry between the leads that is believable, Netflix's 'Obsession' falls short in that area, resulting in the show being weird and not raunchy. Fans took to social media to express their discontent towards the erotic thriller, particularly the chemistry between the lead actors and the awkwardness of the show as a whole.

'It's creepy not hot'

Fans immediately took to the internet to share their disappointment over the chemistry and romance of the leads. One fan expressed their dislike for the Netflix show saying, "#ObsessionNetflix I'm not getting the chemistry, it's creepy not hot. I just don't like it, it's giving 365 Days vibes." Another fan noted the lack of chemistry between the leads by adding, "I’m just not feeling this instant chemistry that they’re supposed to have, just a bunch of crazy staring #ObsessionNetflix." One more fan chimed in with the same comment by adding, "#ObsessionNetflix Why are the scenes in this so cringe and awkward?"
