It has been a while since Disney has acquired the rights to the X-Men, and fans have been wondering ever since in just what form the X-Men will join the MCU. With the release of the surprisingly uncensored 'Days of Future Past' on Disney+, #X-Men started trending on Twitter and fans are once again sharing their suggestions for just what the next Marvel mutant movie should contain.

"Hey @DisneyI have a suggestion for your new Magneto... " wrote one fan, sharing a gif of Giancarlo Esposito. Esposito has had a history of playing powerfully villainous roles, be it Lex Luthor on 'Harley Quinn' and various video games, Moff Gideon on 'The Mandalorian' or Ra's al Ghul on the DC Animated films. The fan who made the post later added, "Here's a fun fact: did you know you can be black and Jewish? Like at the same time. Wild" after backlash from online users asking that Magneto's Jewish history not be erased.

Some fans complained about how the movies thus far have handled their favorite characters, with one writing "Because #XMen is trending, I just wanna say that Kitty Pryde is the coolest X-Man and that Cyclops is infinitely more interesting than Wolverine and that the movies did him dirty." Another wrote, "X-Men is trending and I just want to say they did my girl Rogue so dirty in the movies. Fix. It." One online user wrote, "Stop acting like Nightcrawler is/was not a core Xmen. Cast the dude."

The request for a darker-skinned version of Storm has also come up frequently. "Cast a dark skin woman who is FIVE FEET AND ELEVEN INCHES TALL to play Storm. Lets be comic accurate here pls and thank youuu" wrote one fan, adding, "Also stop casting any ol Asian to play an Asian character just because....they’re Asian. Dont cast a Japanese actress to play a Thai character." Another fan wrpte, "#xmen is trending so i’m manifesting a dark skin storm in the mcu that’s well written, leads the x-men and gets solo movies."

The question of whether or not Storm should appear in the next 'Black Panther' movie as a way to introduce mutants to the MCU has its supporters and detractors, with one of the latter writing, "#XMen is trending so all Id like to say is that Storm should NOT appear in Black Panther 2. Storm is a Leader, she is a teacher, she is an absolute powerhouse, she is a literally goddess. Ororo is so much more than playing second fiddle to an Avenger, and thats the tea."

'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is now available to stream on Netflix.
