Fans in frenzy after Lionsgate drops 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' first look
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Let's be real, the 'The Hunger Games' franchise is one of the most famous and watched franchises in the history of movies. In 2012, Gary Ross introduced us to the dystopian world written by Suzanne Collins in her 2008 novel of the same name. In fact, the film was a massive box-office success by grossing over 694 million dollars worldwide against its budget of 78 million dollars, making it the third-highest-grossing film in the country and the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2012. Furthermore, the film starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.
However, it is a new dawn, it is a new day, and definitely, a new life for the upcoming 'Hunger Games' movie as the franchise is expanding with a prequel movie, 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes'. Based on the 2020 prequel novel by Suzanne Collins, 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' is set 64 years before the events of the 'Hunger Games' trilogy. It starts on the morning of the reaping of the Tenth Hunger Games, where an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is assigned as the mentor for the tribute girl from the impoverished District 12. The film stars Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Viola Davis, and Peter Dinklage.
