The Ventura County Sheriff's Department released video footage of the visibility in Lake Piru where 'Glee' star Naya Rivera disappeared on July 8. The department took to their Twitter handle to share two videos from their search for the missing star who had gone boating with her young son, Josey. The two had gone swimming but Josey says that his mother did not get back on the boat.

The first of the two videos have been captioned, "Here’s the ROV used by @TulareSheriff in the search for Naya Rivera at Lake Piru today. This is one of many resources being used, along with side-scan sonar, dogs, and divers."

It shows an officer throwing a scanner device into the water which looks quite murky. The second of the two videos were captioned, "Here’s an example of the underwater visibility at a 30-foot depth in Lake Piru."

The video shows the low visibility in the lake and also shows what appears to be a tree. In the video, an officer is seen maneuvering a device that has a camera that has been submerged into the lake.

Social media users have taken to commenting on the videos asking the police to search the neighboring woods as well as interview boat personnel and the jetski person.

One such user shared, "How about sniffing dogs to find Naya within x km radius on land? Do you just purely base your complete search on the statement of a 4 yo boy? What about the interviews for the adults, the jetski person, boat personnel etc???"

"Is the land surrounding the lake being searched as well?" commented another social media user. "please just listen to us and look outside the lake as well," yet another user said.

Another shared, "Don’t just search at the lake, search on the properly houses and the proximities on the lake Not just on the water Maybe She is not dead on the water and she still missed Do your job pls We need you, SHE needs you, and her poor 4 yo child too."

Some fans and followers have started a petition to extend the search outside of the lake as well. The petition created on change.org has so far received around 27,616 signatures.

Some social media users tried to point out that the authorities were also looking in the surrounding land. One such user shared, "What is w all these people constantly saying the same crap? Yes of course they've looked around surrounding land. They're professionals in search and rescue, not us. It's rude to imply they don't know how to do their jobs. They're not gonna livestream every little thing they do."

Another added, "from what i can gather, they have been searching land, but from the evidence they have it’s been suggested that she didn’t leave the water, so that’s why the focus is there ): ."

The Ventura Sheriff's Department also released CCTV footage showing the actress and her 4-year-old son Josey arriving at Lake Piru, parking the car, and then boarding a boat. This is the last time that Rivera was seen with her son after he was found alone and asleep on the boat hours later.
