DJ Spinbad dies at age 46, tributes pour in for iconic New York music producer: 'Legend gone too soon'

Influential musician DJ Spinbad died on Tuesday, November 10, in New York City. He was only 46. The cause of Spinbad’s death, whose real name was Chris Sullivan, has not been revealed yet. British DJ Yoda confirmed the shocking news on Twitter by writing: “I'm raw and almost unable to comment on this right now, but I've woken up to the news that Spinbad has gone. The world is culturally emptier today without him - I wish I had the chance to say goodbye. I send love to his family and, today - listen to his 80s mix (the 90s one is amazing too). Rest in peace Spinbad."

Canadian comedian Russell Peters took to Instagram to pay tribute to the artist as he wrote, “This is a post I had hoped I’d never have to make but it’s with a broken heart that I have to say, bye to my brother, my friend, my DJ, one of the most creative and brilliant minds I’ve ever known... i can’t believe you’re not here anymore... trying to find the right pictures of us has me all fucked up and crying, because we have waaaay too many memories together... I love you my brother and I don’t know how to keep it together... #RIPDjSpinbad #MyBrother”.

According to reports, Spinbad was a famous name in the New York music scene, and released album ‘Underground Airplay’ in 2001 and three years later ‘‘FabricLive.14’. Besides, he also released several mixtapes and had an experience of working with the New York City radio station WHTZ. DJ Revolution tweeted, “F**k...my bro spinbad is gone  .....Wtf! I don’t even have any words ....only pain.” While DJ Affect said, “Saddened by the loss of another Legend gone to soon in the Dj World RIP @djspinbad”.

A number of Spinbad’s fans and followers also took to the social media sites to express their sorrow over the loss. One such user wrote on Instagram: “One of the most gifted and talented DJs I have EVER heard. @power1051 back in the day and on those lethal mixtapes he used to put out. RIP DJ Spinbad”. Another one shared on Twitter, “Forever in my heart. @djspinbad”.

“RIP to the legend @djspinbad...sad to hear that news,” a fan of him tweeted. DJ Spider said, “This is unbelievable. Rest In Peace to the legend, one of the greatest DJs and a great person @djspinbad”. “Please tell me this aint true what im hearing about @djspinbad Like no fucking way man,” wrote another fan of his. While the third one added, “Rest In Peace @djspinbad. One of the dopest DJ's on the planet & all around good man. Your skills, presence, & brotherhood is truly going to be missed. We love you bro....”
