Family of five killed in head-on collision with truck driven on wrong side of road by 'drunk' driver
A family of five from Michigan were killed in a horrific car accident when a suspected drunk driver who was going the wrong way, slammed into them. The tragic accident took place on a Kentucky highway when the family was returning from a holiday in Florida.
The victims, 42-year-old Issam Abbas, his wife 38-year-old Dr. Rima Abbas and their three children — 14-year-old Ali Abbas, 13-year-old Isabella Abbas, and seven-year-old Giselle Abbas — were tragically killed after a pickup truck smashed into their car. The truck was driven by 41-year-old Joey Lee Bailey who was driving on the wrong side of the road on the I-75 around 2.30 am on Sunday, January 6. According to the Detroit Free Press, the family was on their way back from a Florida vacation.
