Spoiler alert for 'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' Episode 1

Behold! For those of you who experienced nerve-wracking moments with the tale of Minnow Bly in 'Sacred Lies', Facebook's streaming platform is all set to present yet another enthralling series with Raelle Tucker's latest creation 'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' which premiered on February 20.

'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' begins with a flashback, which sees little Elsie (Jordan Alexander) walking by the road with her father. The father leaves her in a restaurant saying he would be gone for a while to fix his broken vehicle, only to abandon her forever. Elsie wanly watches her father leave, aware of his true intentions.

In the present day, Elsie is being moved to another foster family after being rejected by her current guardians, owing to her aggression which traces its roots back to her traumatic childhood. Meanwhile, Elsie is waiting to age so that she can live on her own.

Within a few minutes into the episode, we are introduced to Amelia Harper (Juliette Lewis) — an agitated insurance agent who hates her job and is obsessed with the case of Cherry Falls Jane Doe.

Amelia comes to prison asking for the case of unidentified bodies. During her conversation with the police about women with beautiful families getting mysteriously killed, she says, "Sometimes families are the reason people disappear, the reason nobody looks."

At this, we begin to wonder if Amelia is a blood relative of the dead, which gives a reason for her unexplainable involvement in unraveling the mystery. Her intuitions and clues obtained from reopening the age-old file lead her to the location of the murders in the depths of the woods, where she stumbles upon more skeletal remains shoved in the bark of a tree.

Meanwhile, Elsie struggles to fit into the new family and abide by her foster mother's strict rules. However, she finds a reason to continue staying there when she learns that her biological father is serving time in prison for child abandonment.

Elsie goes to meet her father who has been locked up for years, hoping it would help her put an end to her misery. However, the reunion barely avails Elsie as her father refuses to talk about her mother.

As the 'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' teases us with two of its eccentric characters, we can't help but wonder what each one of them has got to do with the unidentified victims of the murder and what secrets are going to come to light as Amelia continues to dig deeper.

'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' is available to stream on Facebook Watch.
