Ex Nickelodeon star Drake Bell claims being ‘sexually abused’ by dialogue coach Brian Peck at 15 years old
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA: Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell is set to share his experiences of alleged sexual abuse by Brian Peck in the upcoming Investigation Discovery series titled "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV." In a new clip released on Tuesday, along with a press release, it is indicated that Bell will discuss the reported abuse by Peck during his time as a child actor. The series explores the darker aspects of the entertainment industry, shedding light on Bell's perspective and experiences related to the alleged abuse.
In the clip, an anonymous person can be seen saying, “To hear Brian Peck was a sexual predator, it made me wonder immediately about who was being hurt," after hearing of Peck's alleged abuse.
The docuseries states that, "Drake Bell will be sharing publicly, for the first time, the story of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Brian Peck, his former dialogue coach who was convicted in 2004 for his crimes against Drake and ordered to register as a sex offender.”
Brian Peck served as a dialogue coach on Nickelodeon's shows "All That" and "The Amanda Show," with the latter featuring Drake Bell as one of the stars during the period from 1999 to 2002.
Drake Bell’s ex Melissa Lingafelt accused him of abuse
Drake Bell has been accused of abuse by his former girlfriend, Melissa Lingafelt, known by her stage name Jimi Ono on social media. Lingafelt made these allegations in a TikTok video where she accused Bell of both verbal and physical abuse during their relationship. Bell, on the other hand, has denied these allegations.
“I don’t even want to get into the underage girls thing,” she said in the now-deleted TikTok. “I mean, I will, but I’m scared.” After his arrest in 2021, Lingafelt shared, “I saw really questionable, crazy shit on his computer. The stuff he’d be looking at was fucking insane.” She added, “I don’t pray that people will come forward. I just know that they will.”
Why was Brian Peck arrested in 2003?
Peck was arrested and charged woth sexually molesting a minor in 2003, a child, who had been coached by him at that time and has to face the abuse for a period of six months, according to a Los Angeles Police Department press release.
Following this, the dialogue coach was sentenced to 16 months in prison and required to register as a sex offender in 2004. His bail was set at $500,000.00.
Why was Drake Bell arrested in 2021?
In 2021, Bell received a two-year probation sentence and was ordered to complete 200 hours of community service for child endangerment charges. This legal action stemmed from his inappropriate behavior with a young fan. The interaction began online and extended to in-person meetings over the course of several years.
The victim reported he started chatting with her online when she was 12, and the conversations became inappropriate and 'sexually blatant' by the time she turned 15. Initially claiming not guilty, Bell later made a deal with prosecutors. In June, he was found guilty of attempting to endanger a child, a felony, and convicted of a misdemeanor for sharing harmful material with a minor.
