'Disgraceful!' Internet appalled as ex-cop Myles Cosgrove who fatally shot Breonna Taylor is hired again
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY: A former Louisville Metro Police Department police who was fired for shooting dead Breonna Taylor during a "no-knock" police raid in her home in Louisville on March 13, 2020, was rehired. Myles Cosgrove has been hired by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky on Thursday, April 20, according to the department's chief deputy.
Cosgrove was terminated from his former department after he failed to properly identify a target and fired 16 times into Taylor's apartment, murdering her. The officer was never indicted on the charge of "wanton endangerment", and no further charges were pressed. On January 5, 2021, he was fired by the LMPD for "violating department policy." Despite the public outcry of injustice, the officer will now continue policing again.

'There will be opinions on both sides of the equation!'
The Carroll County Chief Deputy Rob Miller said the Cosgrove was already on active duty. Speaking about the public uproar of hiring Cosgrove, Miller said that the department knows "there will be opinions on both sides of the equation." He said that the department considered that Cosgrove was executing the warrant as ordered and that the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council voted not to take away his police certification.
He claimed the decision to hire him was based on the long-term experience he has as an officer and his technical skills according to the chief deputy. They believe a small county sheriff’s department like Carroll County could befit from him. “We’re going to give him a chance,” Miller said, WLKY reports.
'Should be in prison!'
Internet users were outraged by the justice system claiming he should be in prison. One user questioned, "Good god who’s he going to shoot next?" Another claimed, "We are a broken country with zero empathy and respect for others. It’s embarrassing and pathetic." A third said, "Not surprised!!!" A fourth chimed, "Disgraceful." A fifth said, "We need a national registry for bad cops so they can't get another job in law enforcement. Ban them for life." A user tweeted, "Should be in prison..." Another asserted, "This is what they do. Someone else will hire them. Going on for years." "This is the kind of guy police departments want to hire, nationwide. This is why the system can't be saved," penned a user.
