Ethan Peck confirmed as Spock for season 2 of 'Star Trek: Discovery'

Ethan Peck, who is the grandson of the Academy Award-winning Gregory Peck, has been cast as Spock for 'Star Trek: Discovery'

'Star Trek' made its much-awaited return to television after a 12-year hiatus with CBS All Access' 'Star Trek: Discovery' in 2017. The series rolled back the years for fans of the franchise, though there was one notable absentee — Spock. However, it was confirmed earlier that the human-Vulcan will be making his debut in the second season. It has now been revealed that Ethan Peck has been cast in the role.

Peck will be the third actor to play the iconic science fiction character after the venerable Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto. Nimoy created the character for the original 'Star Trek' series and would portray him in eight feature films, 'Star Trek: The Animated Series,' as well as two episodes of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation,' in the process becoming one of the most beloved and recognizable actors of his time.
