President Donald Trump's son Eric Trump, on Monday, said that his father will "fight till the bitter end," while referring to an impeachment inquiry launched against the president by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last week.

The impeachment inquiry was launched in the wake of a formal complaint lodged by a whistleblower who alleged that the president had sought a "favor" from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation in an attempt to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden. The White House subsequently released a transcript of the controversial call, which confirmed that the president had sought favor from a foreign leader to probe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Eric, while appearing for a Fox and Friends interview on Monday, said: "My father's doing great. He understands the deep state for what they are." The segment co-host Ainsley Earhardt then asked Eric whether his father ever thought that this was "worth it?": "Is it worth it? Does he ever want to say this is – it's not worth it and I'm giving up?"

Eric responded by saying: "You know, he's the greatest fighter in the world. And he will fight these people 'til the bitter end.'" He then went on to predict that his father's campaign will win the 2020 presidential polls: "Guys, we're going to win again. We're going to win again. You mark my words. This is going to backfire on them."

Ever since the whistleblower's complaint was made public, many Trump supporters, including his legal team, House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy and ally Sen. Lindsey Graham have spoken publicly in defense of the president.

However, a House GOP lawmaker from Nevada has called for the impeachment inquiry to go forward. Meanwhile, Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican, also slammed the president for his tweet which suggested that removing him from his position could cause a "civil war."

Kinzinger tweeted: "I have visited nations ravaged by civil war. @realDonaldTrump I have never imagined such a quote to be repeated by a President. This is beyond repugnant."
