Eric Trump was among the people who believed Donald Trump would never lose to the 2020 election, and so strong was his belief that he bet the president would gain at least 320 electoral college votes. The second son of Trump made the wager while flying home on Air Force One from the family's final campaign in Michigan. Eventually, Trump would go on to earn only 232 votes in comparison to Joe Biden's 306 — nearly 100 votes short.

As per a New York Times report, an adviser from polling and analytics said: "We're just trying to get to 270." Based on the number of people who attended his rallies, Trump's inner circle firmly believed there would be a massive lead.

There was no news as to how much the younger Trump had bet or whether he ponied up, but the report added that Trump and his entourage "fell into enraged disbelief as his lead inexorably dissipated, even in formerly red states like Arizona, which Fox called for Mr. Biden at 11:20 in what the president took as a stinging betrayal. Eric Trump goaded him on — a dynamic that would play out in the weeks to come. There would be no early victory speech that evening."

According to Axios, he said: "Coronavirus will magically all of a sudden go away and disappear and everybody will be able to reopen."

In related news, since Trump and Melania's exit from the White House, Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Donald Trump Jr have all garnered thousands of new followers.
