Kar-Jenner sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner represented the First Family of Reality Television at the Primetime Emmy Awards 2019. The sisters got on the stage to announce the nominations for the best reality competition and Kim decided to give a little speech before reading out the list of nominees.

"Our family knows first-hand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves," Kim said. Kendall continued: "Telling their stories, unfiltered and unscripted." We don’t know what reaction the sisters expected but we are certain that they didn’t expect the audience to burst out in laughter. Mind you, the audience laughed at them and not with them.

There was a burst of roaring laughter from the audience when Kim explained how her family has first-hand experience with reality television, and Kendall added fuel to the fire by labeling their stories as “unfiltered and unscripted”.

Twitter users immediately latched onto the awkward moment and began churning out some hilarious tweets. “‘That audience laugh when Kim was speaking about “real people”… I think is the first cringe moment of the night,’ wrote a fan. Another user wrote, “omg but everyone laughing when kim said "our family knows how compelling television can be when people are just being themselves" with a straight face made me chuckle #Emmys”. “S/o to the absolutely malicious person who let Kim and Kendall go up there to talk about “real people” making “compelling television” with 0 irony knowing FULL WELL that whole audience was gonna laugh at them lmao”, pointed out a fan.
