Missing footballer Emiliano Sala's last message suggests he was worried about the plane: 'It's falling to pieces'
A troubling Whatsapp audio note sent by Argentinian footballer Emiliano Sala to his friends has now been released and it suggests that he was concerned about the condition of the aircraft he was traveling on. Sala, 28, is believed to have been onboard a Piper Malibu which went missing off Alderney, the northernmost of the Channel Islands, on January 21, and which authorities believe crashed into the turbulent and dangerous waters of the English Channel.
Sala, a footballer for French club Nantes, was said to be on the private aircraft headed to Wales having just completed a transfer to English Premier League club Cardiff City for a reported club record £15 million ($19.5 million). But poor weather conditions meant the aircraft would not successfully reach its destination, with Sala's audio note sent to his friends proving to be prophetic.
