Sir Elton John is 73 years old and he has probably achieved everything a musician can dream of. With five Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards, two Academy Awards, two Golden Globes, a Tony Award, a Disney Legends award and the Kennedy Center Honor, Elton has always been on the top of his game.

The British singer-songwriter, who boasts of an extensive discography of 30 studio albums, four live albums, seven soundtrack albums, 16 compilation albums and three EPs, has still a lot of music left in him and is planning to open the vault of his rarely heard and unreleased songs.

Yes, this is indeed happening. Elton took to his official Twitter account and announced: "To delve back through every period of my career for Jewel Box has been an absolute pleasure. I always want to push forward with everything I do and look to the future, but having time during lockdown to take stock and pull these moments from each era has been a joy."

The Twitter post was shared with a 45-second video that divulged details about his 'Elton: Jewel Box'. The video revealed that the Jewel Box collection includes 148 songs, 60 of which are unreleased. It will be out on November 13, 2020.

According to reports, the recordings are from 1965 to 2019 and include his early collaborations with songwriter Bernie Taupin. The video showed that the Jewel Box will contain 8 Disc Box Set along with narration about them by the legendary singer. The Jewel Box will come with deep cuts, rarities from the earliest stages of his and Bernie Taupin’s musical journey, B-sides spanning 30 years, and songs discussed in his bestselling, critically acclaimed 2019 memoir ‘Me', along with a hardcover book containing extensive notes.

The moment he shared the big news, his loyal fans began pouring-in tweets. One said, "I'm an EJ fan and would love to add this to my collection. Will it be available in the shops? and is it possible to obtain a signed copy. A pair of EJ glasses would be nice as I have to wear specs, it would be fun to own some rather funky one's instead of basics." One follower tweeted, "WOW! I've been a fan since 70s, I've heard a handful of the rare tracks on bootleg but most are new to even a long time collector like me, & great to finally have those rare 45 bSides on CD. Now THIS is how you do a proper reissue boxset, great value&content Musical keyboard."

One fan said, "Think of all the songs that Elton John probably wrote that never made it to albums. Now you can hear them. 'Elton: Jewel Box,' will be released on November 13th." Another social media user added, “I CANT WAIT, WHAT A TREASUUUURE.” One ardent fan shared, "I hope your appearances on the Morcombe & Wise show are included. One of my most pleasant memories from my childhood."

As Variety reported, some of the songs which will make it to the disc collection are ‘Monkey Suit', ‘Where To Now St Peter?', ‘Mellow', ‘The Ballad Of Danny Bailey’ (1909-34), ‘We All Fall In Love Sometimes', ‘Too Low For Zero'.
