Elon Musk’s dad Errol reveals he killed 3 burglars in South Africa to save terrified 6-yr-old daughter
SANDTON, JOHANNESBURG: Elon Musk’s father Errol, who has been in the news for having a second baby with stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, recently revealed he shot dead three armed intruders in South Africa while trying to save his young daughter, Alexandra Ali Musk.
Born in South Africa, the 76-year-old father talked about the spine-chilling break-in bloodbath for the first time during an exclusive interview with the Sun. Errol, who made a name for himself through his work as an engineer, real estate developer, and political advocate, revealed the incident happened in the 1990s when he was visiting a rental property he owned in Johannesburg with his then-six-year-old daughter.

Errol had gone to his unfurnished and empty property in the financial district of Sandton, to check on the painting work being done at the house. Upon their arrival at around 5 pm, Ali told him that she wants to take a shower in the main bedroom en suite. He asked her to wait in the bedroom as he searched for the towel. While searching for a towel, he was confronted by seven armed burglars in the lounge area of the property.
He revealed the intruders opened fire on him but he somehow managed to save his life. He ran to the main bedroom where he picked up his 357 magnum, which he had left on the top shelf to keep it away from Ali's reach. "As soon as they saw me, they started shooting at me. They opened up on me. I killed three. One bullet went through two of them.” Errol explained.
"I took the first guy out through the head. The police found him with the top of his head missing. I was using hollow point ammunition, so the round broke up, and the shrapnel hit the guy behind him in the chest. They ran as soon as I fired my first shot." He added further.
Errol said witnessing him taking down one burglar, other intruders ran away and just one remained at the property. He then spotted him and fired his second shot. "We both fired at the same time. I hit him in the groin, and I thought he had hit me. I looked down to see where I was shot. The bullet hit it dead center; otherwise, it would have hit me square in the chest," Errol revealed. Asked if he is some Clint Eastwood, he replied, "Well, you can say so. Yeah, why not?"
Errol also revealed his sharpshooting skills helped him win South African National Defence Force's shooting championships.
Apparently, upon hearing the second round of fire, his daughter ran to him naked and grabbed his leg. "She was next to me during the whole thing. She clung to me like a monkey but kept quiet through the whole thing. She didn't scream or cry. Afrikaner girls have much more guts than English South Africans," He claimed.
Errol then called the police and also informed his medical specialist brother that he had killed someone. "He said 'he'll be dead in 15 minutes.' So I said 'OK.'" He recalled. Police arrived at the property about an hour and a half later and found a third wounded burglar inside the property. Officers collected 52 shells from 9mm handguns and estimated that at least six pistols were used to fire at Errol.
Previously, Errol had revealed he was charged with manslaughter but managed to escape jail time as it was an act of self-defense. His famous son once described him as a "terrible human”, claiming he had committed every crime one could imagine.
"My dad will have a carefully thought-out evil plan. He will plan evil. Almost every crime you can imagine, he's committed. Almost every bad thing you can imagine, he's done. It's so terrible you can't believe it,” Elon said in an interview a few years ago. Last week, the Tesla and Space X tycoon took to his Twitter handle to talk about his problematic relationship with his father. He revealed he and his brother have provided their father financial support since 1990, "on condition that he did not do bad things."
"Unfortunately, he did do bad things," Elon added.
