BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO: On January 14, Elliot Blair, an Orange County attorney, died while celebrating his first wedding anniversary with his wife at the Las Rocas hotel in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. Blair's widow, Kimberly Williams, has now provided further details about the circumstances surrounding his unsettling death in Mexico.

Williams spoke in great detail with Good Morning America about her last night with Blair before he was discovered dead. She explained how the couple watched the sunset while sipping margaritas by the beach before going out for dinner. Williams, however, asserts that when returning to the hotel, local police approached them and allegedly tried to extort money from them. She said, "Elliot had told them, 'we don't have the amount of cash that you want'. The other officer came up and started talking to us, 'where are you staying'," as reported by Good Morning America.

Williams disclosed that Blair had informed the police they were on vacation while in the city and staying at the Las Rocas, Mexico. She goes on to add that her husband had also resisted the police' relentless request for money. She stated that they did not have the cash which the police were demanding and that they had to empty their wallets and give them $160 before being allowed to leave.

How did Kimberly Williams learn about Elliot Blair's body?

The couple returned to their hotel room after their unexpected run-in with the local police, where Williams went to bed and Blair hopped in the shower. Williams next remembers a security guard and hotel staff banging on her door and saying, "Excuse me, miss, excuse me, is this your boyfriend down there?" according to Good Morning America.

Williams said, "I turned to the side, I didn't see him there, so I ran out the front door and they're pointing over the side of our front door area to the ground. Well, that was my Elliot down there." She disclosed that Blair and she had recently bought their "Dream home and planned to have children together," she continued, "He was my rock in this world. Without him, I feel like I have nothing."

How did Elliot Blair die?

Mexican official's autopsy stated that Blair's death was caused by an "unfortunate accident due to the fall of the deceased from a third floor," according to the Sun. There were no indications of a struggle in the couple's hotel room, according to the Baja California State Attorney General's Office. Authorities in Mexico believe that a toxicology report discovered "considerable" amounts of alcohol in Balir's body. A forensic medical necropsy certificate stated that severe head trauma was the cause of his death.

However, a family-conducted private autopsy uncovered "physical evidence" that suggested Blair was "murdered that night." Williams asserts that data from the autopsy suggests her husband may have been "beaten by more than one man." She further disputed the Mexican authorities' assertion that Blair was intoxicated, asserting that her husband had only consumed five or six drinks over the course of that night's six-hour period and was not intoxicated.

'I just know it's not an accident'

Expert in biomechanics, body performance, and injuries, Dr. Rami Hashish is assisting the family on the matter and claimed there isn't "much evidence [to] point to the fact that it was an accident." Hashish said, "I think it's relatively clear the injury pattern[s] just simply don't add up with one another," as reported by Good Morning America.

"There's bruising marks on the body," Hashish added. "There's indications of potentially being dragged on the front of the body. There's fractures to the back of the skull. Nothing really points to the fact that it was necessarily an accident."

"I just know it's not an accident. I know he didn't fall. I just know that. I want to do everything we can to figure out what happened in that 45-minute, hour time span because that's what Elliot deserves. And that's the hardest part for me, is not knowing," Williams stated.
