What is the secret to Elizabeth Olsen and Robbie Arnett's happy marriage? Avengers star drops hilarious hint
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elizabeth Olsen and Robbie Arnett are not only a happy couple, but also a creative duo. The 'Avengers' star and the musician have co-written their second children’s book 'Hattie Harmony: Opening Night' which aims to help children cope with anxiety through strategies like journaling, time-outs and self-reflection.
The book, illustrated by Marissa Valdez is a sequel to their first best-seller 'Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective'. "We love working together because we communicate so well," Olsen, 34, told People.
'We have fun solving problems together'
"Our whole relationship is based on that. We have fun solving problems together." The couple, who have been married for three years, met in February 2017 while vacationing in Mexico. They share their ideal day off, which involves coffee, gardening, cooking, and watching movies. "That’s my favorite, favorite day," says Olsen. "Coffee, and then I’ll go write. And then hopefully we’ll watch a really great movie," says Arnett, 31. "And then [go to] bed early and do it again. Real exciting stuff."
'He makes me laugh every day'
Olsen and Arnett say they are grateful for each other’s support and humor. "He makes me laugh every day, easily before noon," says Olsen. "That was my goal setting out, to figure out how to make her laugh once a day," says Arnett. "And I haven’t had to do it intentionally. I can’t tell if that’s a bad thing or a good thing." Olsen also revealed that she and Arnett got married before the COVID-19 pandemic and kept it a secret for a long time.
'I just never talked about it'
She continued, "We never really talked much about our marriage," she told SiriusXM in June 2022. "We eloped, and then we had a wedding at another time, but it was before COVID. I just never talked about it." Arnett also shared his excitement about collaborating with his wife on the children's book series. "Robbie and I couldn't be more thrilled to introduce the world to Hattie Harmony," he said to People previously in April 2023. "Inspired by the picture books we adored as kids, we hope that Hattie will become a friend and a welcomed reminder to be kind to yourself and to each other." Hattie Harmony: Opening Night is available now.
