Drug lord Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán's daughter appeared on a Facebook live stream, on Tuesday, April 14, where she was filmed packing boxes with food supplies for the elderly in Mexico amid the coronavirus pandemic. Alejandrina Gisselle Guzmán, however, put her notorious drug lord father's face on all the supplies.

Guzmán was seen accompanied by her team of workers as she visited multiple poor neighborhoods to deliver the essential supplies across the Guadalajara metropolitan area. "You have toilet paper. There are flavored cornstarches. There is also seasoning for noodle soups and noodle soups," she said in the video, detailing the content of the packages. "We have three different types of soups. There are crackers, oil, sugar, beans, and rice, too."

Guzmán's prime focus is to reportedly reach out to the aging population of the city, who are severely affected because of the economic crisis social distancing rules have brought on. The drug lord's daughter, in the live broadcast, wore a facemask that had a picture of her incarcerated father on it.

El Chapo is currently serving a life sentence for drug trafficking in the United States. The leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, before his imprisonment, routinely distributed some of his billion-dollar fortune amongst the poor in the region.

It appears that his daughter is now using the earnings from Chapo 701, a fashion line inspired by her father, for the charity. Reports state that some of the products in her firm are made by prisoners being held in the same jail El Chapo famously escaped from in 2001, according to the Daily Mail. Guzmán also appeared in another video on Wednesday, April 15, where she called on the public to share the contact details of any elderly person in their region who needed assistance.

"We want to ask you to please refer us to people who really need help, who do not have basic government support, neither from family nor grandchildren," Guzmán said in the clip. "That they are lonely or low-income people who really need it."

It was reported last month that El Chapo's family has announced that they will be using the former Sinaloa Cartel supremo's fortune to build and open a university in Mexico. The educational institution will reportedly be constructed in Badiraguato, the town where Guzmán was born, and will be one of the three projects the family will initiate using the 62-year-old's wealth.

The family's attorney, José Luis González Meza, revealed in March that the drug lord's mother Maria Consuelo Loera, and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador are expected to break the ground for the project, and that the popular Mexican painter Hugo Zúñiga de Guerrero has already been hired for the job.

"We are hoping that when President López Obrador makes his first visit to Sinaloa he will go to Badiraguato and lay the stone together with El Chapo's mother, María Consuelo, and work can finally begin on building the university", he said. The family's other project includes launching a chain of affordable food markets that will sell meals at half the normal price, including products like coffee, tequila, and beer.
