'Dynasty' Season 3 Episode 9 Preview: Will Alexis Carrington's comeback mess up Blake's life?
Alexis Carrington's much-awaited return to 'Dynasty' seems to be the highlight as the character left Atlanta at the end of last season with Fallon's face. Alexis has gotten another plastic surgery and now the character will be played by Elaine Hendrix. In Season 3 Episode 8, Alexis didn't just come back to wreak vengeance from her ex-husband but left everyone shocked with her new husband, Jeff Colby.
Colby is Fallon's cousin and that makes the marriage messed up on so many levels. It is definite that Alexis' return will cause trouble in Blake's life. But, that's not the only concern. If not on the relationship scale, it is quite unclear as to what could be Colby's motive behind this marriage. Moreover, his stance would also irk his mother, Dominique, and it could create more trouble between the mother-son duo.
So, what could we expect from the next episode when it returns after the winter break? Going by the 11-second promo for Season 3 Episode 9, Blake and Cristal seem to be throwing shade at Alexis and Jeff's new pairing.
Cristal snaps at Jeff, saying, "When Alexis is involved, I'm guessing it has to do with money." Alexis, however, was not one to stay shut. She replied, "That is the gold digger calling the kettle black." It seems the two couples have a long battle ahead and it will only add more rivalry and drama to the show.
Fans are happy to see the new Alexis and can't wait for the next episode. One viewer commented, "Seeing Elaine Hendrix as new Alexis is so way better and it's too weird that she's married to Jeff unlike original Dynasty she's married to Cecil which now makes her Alexis Carrington Colby."
Another wrote, "The fall finale episode was the best episode this season so far. The writers need to keep going in this direction because this is the kind of Dynasty I love to watch. I am loving the new Crystal. They finally got the casting right this time. And Alexis is back. Here's hoping they make her a badass powerful bitch like the Alexis made famous by Joan Collins."
Many viewers made predictions for the show. "Something tells me Kirby isn't coming back from that trip with shady Joel, and something also tells me that he isn't being investigated for tax fraud," one comment read and another said, "It seems Dynasty has become a comedy vs. a drama. It is so campy and does anyone person like another? ALL the women are foes, including mothers and daughters."
Praising the female cast, one fan posted, "From Dominique, To Krystal, To Alexis and of course Fallon. And also Kirby and Monica. The female characters in this show are a powerhouse."
However, not everyone was happy with the new developments. Another said, "I’m so freaking disappointed in this series at the moment. Have they ever heard about the thing called character development? I know that Fallon’s charm is all about being this scandalous, confident and short-tempered woman but the way she behaved herself at the court showed that she really is 'nothing but a spoiled, rich brat'. It was exactly how the Fallon from the first season would behave and the fact that she hasn’t changed much in two seasons is not a good thing at all."
Sadly, the showrunners haven't announced a title or a synopsis for the next episode but it needs to solve many mysteries and answer several questions. In the last episode, Fallon discovers that Adam is not blind, and Liam's memory starts to return with him realizing that it was Adam who threw the pot on his head.
The new episode will air on January 17 on The CW after going on a short hiatus.
