Dylan Lyons' fiancée fundraising for IVF after asking docs to collect his sperm on night he was killed
ORLANDO, FLORIDA: The distraught fiancée of a journalist, who was fatally shot while reporting a homicide, is gathering money to use IVF to have his child after she instructed medical professionals to collect his sperm the night he died.
Casey Fite had planned to start a family with Dylan Lyons, 24, before he was killed on February 22 while reporting a homicide for Spectrum News 13 in Florida. Dylan Lyons was 24 years old. She reported on a GoFundMe page that eight vials of sperm were successfully extracted from him on the night he died.

'Dylan's legacy'
In order to use IVF to implant the sperm and preserve "Dylan's legacy," she is currently raising $50,000. Lyons gained notoriety when, along with a nine-year-old girl and her mother, he was shot and killed while reporting on a homicide that had occurred nearby five hours earlier. Keith Melvin Moses,19, was detained in connection with the killings, which authorities suspect are connected, as reported by DailyMail.
'Love of my life'
Casey claimed in a GoFundMe post that she had first met Lyons in 2020 and referred to him as the "love of my life." She wrote, "From the moment I met Dylan I knew he was someone special and was the most handsome man I ever saw. Dylan and I began dating in November 2021, and we had our entire lives planned…he did everything for me…" She further added, "Dylan was a vegan but he would still take me out to restaurants I liked just because he wanted to make me happy…that’s the type of man my Dylan was." She further added, "Dylan and I wanted nothing more than to get married and have children…the night he passed away."
She further added, "I researched about harvesting his sperm. I called doctor after doctor until I found one who was able to perform the procedure within the 24-hour period. The doctor was able to retrieve 8 vials of his sperm, and I am going to do IVF to have the baby we so desperately wanted to have together." She concluded, "I am devastated he can’t be here for what we always wanted…Dylan would have been the best dad in the world…any contribution would be appreciated so we can still have our baby as I want to keep my Dylan’s legacy alive." The page has already raised $1,208 of the $50,000 goal, as per the website.
