The second part of ‘Allen V Farrow’ ends with the disclaimer: Woody Allen denies being sexually violent or abusive towards children or teenage girls. But what really is true and why didn't Dylan have her underpants on?
It was January 1992. Farrow discovered nude photographs of Soon-Yi in Allen's home and found out that he was having sex with her. Farrow was at a loss for words and narrated an incident where she found her on the floor in her room, talking to someone, and disconnecting the call abruptly. Recalling the day, Mia said, “He now got to have sex with my children... That was not part of the deal.”
At around the same time, Previn was asked to leave summer camp as she spent all her time taking calls from a “Mr Simon” — who turned out to be Woody Allen. Moses Previn also dished out his thoughts and said Allen had turned from father to predator. In fact, in the summer of 1992, Mia called Woody and asked, “Are you in love with me or Soon-Yi?”
The devastating set of events had already scarred Mia and then came the dreadful day. In the documentary, Dylan Farrow recounted an incident when he was violent towards her. “He said, call me daddy, nothing else.”
The particular day, on August 4, 1992, Allen visited Farrow's children and she had gone out shopping with a friend. Kristi Groteke, the babysitter, narrated the day's events. How long was Dylan missing? 20 minutes. In the documentary, she confessed that she saw Dylan sitting in front of Allen with him kneeling on the floor, facing her, with his head in her lap. Later, the little girl said he had touched her “privates”.
“When we came back from shopping... she was wearing a summer dress and she had no underpants on,” Mia recalled. She then said that her therapist was away for the summer and she had a videotape on which she decided to record everything.
In the video, Dylan can be heard saying, “He touched my privates. And he was breathing near it... He squeezed me.” When Mia asked her, “Where did he touch you?” Dylan pointed to her vagina. In the video, she said “he took me upstairs in the attic. He reached behind and touched my butt. And told me to come to the attic with him. I remember laying on my stomach. I couldn't see what would happen.” In the documentary, Dylan said then he “sexually assaulted me. I remember focusing on my brother's train set. He just stopped. He was done. And we went downstairs.”
Mia then asks her daughter again about what really happened and she repeats the same story. “He said what about some father-daughter time?” Dylan says. Mia asks, “Which part did he touch? He touched your front part?” Over the next few days, she filmed whatever Mia said on the tape. Dylan confessed Allen told her, “Do not move. I have to do this... Then we can go to Paris.”
Much later, Dylan detailed the events in January 2018 on ‘CBS This Morning’ saying, “I was taken to a small attic crawl space in my mother’s country house in Connecticut by my father. He instructed me to lay down on my stomach and play with my brother’s toy train that was set up. And he sat behind me in the doorway, and as I played with the toy train, I was sexually assaulted … As a 7-year-old I would say, I would have said he touched my private parts... As a 32-year-old, he touched my labia and my vulva with his finger.”
Isn't that a major shocker and reason enough to believe in Dylan's confession? Why can't people pin down the truth until now? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
