'DWTS' Grease Night: Iman Shumpert fans say he's 'doing good' despite low scores

Although the judges' critiques and scores don't match up, Shumpert's fans on his side completely

With a double elimination on 'Disney Villains Night', the number of stars on 'Dancing With The Stars' is quickly dwindling. With only 11 celebrities still left, the competition is undoubtedly getting tougher. With 9s being handed out by the judges, each of these stars and their pro dancers now has to step up their game if they want to stay on the show.  

Daniella Karagach has brought out the best in her celebrity partner, NBA basketball star Iman Shumpert. While their height difference was an issue, Shumpert's willingness to try and determination to get better has certainly carried them along. Shumpert and pro Daniella Karagach danced the Viennese waltz to 'Hopelessly Devoted To You' for the' Grease' tribute.

Len Goodman noted that the performance had a gentleness that he liked. Goodman mentioned that he could see how hard Shumpert tries, which makes his performance endearing.  Bruno Tonioli felt as though he got a sense of a love story through their performance. But he also noted that the couple's height difference showed through their dance. He pointed out that Shumpert should not be trying to reach Karagach, but focus on his form. Carrie Ann Inaba also spoke about their noticeable height difference, which was causing issues. But she noted that the chemistry was great, even if the performance was not the best. Derek Hough also agreed but noted that Shumpert was a delight to watch nonetheless. Shumpert landed 7s across the board and scored a total of 28 out of 40. 

As always, fan felt as though Shumpert was not getting due credit or being scored correctly. "Awww!! Hopelessly devoted to @imanshumpert @DKaragach #DWTS So elegant & romantic! Iman has been the best surprise of the season Tall celebs have difficulty matching their partner Iman has excelled @ his partnering w/Daniela & each week they get better Bravo!! @DancingABC" tweeted a fan. "Iman is doing really good. I don't know if they're watching the same performance #DWTS" stated a fan. "Pretty funny to see carrie ann talking about technique i guess that critique applies to everyone except olivia? y'all should be ashamed for scoring iman like that #dwts" asked a fan. "No cause the way they always low score iman like that doesn't sit right with me. his dance was no worse than olivia and melora's. #dwts" pointed out another. 

Fans also felt as though their height difference couldn't just be casually written off, as Karagach is 165 cms and Shumpert is 196cms.  "Iman "shrinks" because Daniella is a little over 5 feet! What do you expect!? #dwts" stated another. "Football players do pretty well on this show but basketball players are at an extreme disadvantage. And I love that Iman is just going for it. Yes, it was awkward, but he should stay above many others! #DWTS" tweeted a fan.
