Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson breaks the Internet for asking 'MINOR' Twitch streamer TommyInnit to drink tequila
If you found it increasingly odd that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was trending under 'Food' on your TL, there's a reason for that. The actor, who is rather active on Twitter, recently wished a fan a happy birthday and had some interesting advice to dish out. But turns out, said fan was Thomas Simons, popular known as TommyInnit, a popular Youtuber and Twitch Streamer.

Who is TommyInnit?
Thomas Simons, who was born in Nottinghamshire, on April 9, 2004, is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer, who previously went by the name Channelnutpig. He is known for his Minecraft-related video content and live streams. With over 4.6 million followers on Twitch, he happens to be the 17th most-followed channel on the platform. His 6 YouTube channels have 13.1 million subscribers respectively, with his videos raking up 983.2 million views.
The YouTuber, who just turned 17, put out a tweet asking Dwayne Johnson to wish him, seeing that it was his birthday. The tweet reads -- "@TheRock it is my birthday. Please say happy birthday Rock"
The actor was quick to reply, posting a tweet that read -- "I’ll do one better, Happy MF’n Birthday Tommy, now go eat cake and drink Teremana with a splash of ZOA. (seriously, have a great birthday weekend)"

Happy MF’n Birthday Tommy, now go eat cake and drink Teremana with a splash of ZOA. 😂
(seriously, have a great birthday weekend)

Both, Teremana and ZOA are beverage brands founded and owned by the actor, the former being a small batch tequila and the latter being an energy drink.
So, why is the internet talking about it?
While the birthday wish seemed innocent enough it doesn't take away from the fact that Simons turned 17 and is still not of legal drinking age, making Jonshon's birthday wish misdirected, seeing that tequila and energy drinks are definitely not advised and even more so when you're a minor. However, for the most part, it was taken in jest.
Twitter had a field day with the entire interaction. "If Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson tells you to drink tequila. you f**king drink tequila. I do not make the rules" tweeted a user. "The fact that Prince Philip and DMX died, it’s Lil Nas X and TommyInnit’s birthday, alongside the fact that Tommy got Dwayne The Rock Johnson to tel him happy bday and to take a drink, and that Smash 4 is trending really says something about how weird today is." added another. "imagine Dwayne the rock johnson saying happy birthday to you but also tells you to drink alcohol even though you're legally not allowed to" said another, pointing out the obvious dilemma. "what world is this where Dwayne the rock Johnson is using tommyinnit for free advertising" tweeted a user. "Please don't tell me you guys are gonna try to "cancel" The rock for this one" added a fan, asking a rather valid question.

While it's against the law in the UK to sell alcohol to anyone under 18 years of age, Drinkaware reports that a person over 18 can buy a child over 16 a beer, cider or wine with a table meal. Here's hoping TommyInnit celebrates responsibly!
