Drunk female tourist strips naked, climbs atop Buddhist shrine and screams abuses in outrageous video
A drunk female tourist in Thailand has sparked fury after she was filmed stripping and climbing a Buddhist shrine, and then ranting and cursing at those passing by as she waved a can of beer she had in her hand. Farah Haque, 28, originally from Bangladesh, was caught clambering on top of the religious site in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, on Monday, August 10, and angered many after embarking on a foul-mouthed tirade.
In a clip obtained by the Daily Mail, Haque can be seen sitting naked on a handrail and waving her arms wildly in the air. At intervals, she takes a swig from the can of Chang beer she had in her hands and shouts abuses at those nearby. She can be heard repeatedly shouting "chok dee m**********r" — chok dee means "cheers" in Thai — and chanting "Allahu Akbar" — which means "God is greater [than everything]" in Arabic — as well. She continues her incoherent rant as people try to talk her down from the shrine and screams a variety of colorful phrases, including "w***** the lot of you," "get the f*** out of here you f****** pedophile" and "ugly c***"
The authorities were eventually called to the scene and managed to detain Haque without incident. They escorted her to the nearby Suan Prung Psychiatric Hospital so she could be sobered up and assessed by doctors. Officers said she had initially arrived in the country as a tourist but had been working as an English teacher since April. Police Lieutenant Colonel Somkit Phusod from the Chiang Mai police station said she had been staying at a hostel in the city but did not reveal much further.
"We suspected that she was quite drunk, she could not control herself and she was causing a terrible scene," he said. "The first thing we did was take her to the hospital to rest. When she is sober the doctors will check her psychological state." Officers revealed Haque had also been stumbling around drunk the previous night, with Somkit adding, "The correct procedure is for psychological reports to be produced which will help us when considering any charges or fines. We are informing her embassy and acquaintances in Thailand." Buddhist locals have reportedly arranged to spend the day cleaning the site, which is considered to a sacred space where people can pray and make offerings.

This is not the first time that a tourist has made headlines in Thailand over a rant. MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) previously reported how Daniel Franckowiak, 46, of Bismarck, North Dakota, was arrested after going on a racist tirade that also involved threats of rape and murder against a female restaurant owner. In a disturbing video captured by an onlooker, Franckowiak can be heard claiming he was a "real m*****f*****" and bragging about killing people and raping children. "I kill people. I rape children. I kill f******. I'm real! I'll f****** kill and rip you, too! You're going down. You're going down, you coward c**** b****," he says.
He then seemingly goes off on a tangent. "I don't drink," he proclaims."You know why I drink? I don't drink to be happy. I drink to destroy you. You're gonna get destroyed." He continues to hurl racial slurs as people gather around him. He then tells one person that his skin looks like "the a** of a f****** cow." "Should have known better than to f*** with me," he says, before starting to dance on the street and further antagonizing the crowd. The ordeal came to an end after two police officers arrived at the scene, placed him in handcuffs and led him away.
