Drawing of Donald Trump Jr in court as Alfred E Neumann is the best thing you will see on the Internet this week

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A photoshopped courtroom image featuring Donald Trump Jr as Alfred E Neumann has ignited a wave of reactions on the internet, adding a touch of humor to the serious backdrop of his father's civil fraud trial in New York.

The trial alleges that former President Donald Trump intentionally inflated the value of his assets and Trump Organization properties to secure favorable deal terms, purportedly resulting in a windfall of $250 million for him and co-defendants.

As the trial entered a new phase, Donald Trump Jr took the witness stand for the defense, offering a contrasting narrative to the state's accusations.

Describing his father as a "genius" and an "artist" with a keen eye for real estate, Trump Jr defended against claims of wrongdoing, asserting that the former president had a unique ability to unlock hidden value in properties that others overlooked.

"I'd say it's good to be here, Your Honor, but I'm afraid the attorney general would sue me for perjury," quipped Trump Jr at one point during his testimony.

However, the internet had its own take on the proceedings, with a photoshopped image replacing Trump Jr's face with Alfred E Neumann, the iconic mascot of Mad Magazine.

Social media users seized the opportunity for witty comments, with one remarking, "It's an improvement!" and another playfully echoing Alfred E Neumann's trademark phrase, "What, me worry?"

Someone else offered, "Not gonna lie, that's pretty funny," while another added, "The artist's vision truly captured his essence... or at least his smirk! Ready for the gallery or the next viral meme?"

It's worth noting that it was former president Trump who first used the longtime mascot of Mad Magazine to poke fun at the appearance of former presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg, who dropped out of the 2020 race to support Biden's candidacy.

"Alfred E Neuman cannot become president of the United States,” the president told Politico in 2019.

Buttigieg, perhaps emblematic of a generation gap, admitted, "I’ll be honest. I had to Google that. I guess it’s just a generational thing. I didn’t get the reference. It's kind of funny, I guess."

This candid response sparked a reaction from Mad Magazine, still kicking and tweeting, "Who’s Pete Buttigieg? Must be a generational thing."

Don Jr defends his father

That said, Donald Trump Jr did not shy away from defending his father's legacy during his testimony.

Describing the former president as a "genius" and an "artist" with a unique vision for real estate, Trump Jr sought to counter the state's claims of fraudulent asset valuation. According to the prosecution, the alleged scheme resulted in Trump and his co-defendants pocketing $250 million.

"He's an artist with real estate. That is his canvas that he creates. He is a creative guy, and he's also good at building," Trump Jr gushed during his testimony, emphasizing his father's knack for transforming properties labeled as "eyesores" into valuable "jewels."

Ironically, the real estate heir's previous courtroom appearance saw him joke about the court sketch artist's work as well as photos of himself and his brother Eric Trump.

"I would have so much fun with that picture, but I will refrain. A lot of Photoshop," Trump Jr quipped at one point when Eric was displayed on the courtroom screen, CBS News reported.
