Gamers, this one's for you. Netflix's film 'Dragon Quest: Your Story' is around the corner, and promises to be a marvelous visual delight, wrapped up in some great storytelling. Based on 'Dragon Quest V', the film is originally launched on the Super Famicom and would later be remastered for the Nintendo DS. The film follows the story of Lucas, who is on a mission to save his mother from dire peril. 

It was released in Japan by Toho in August 2019. Fantasy, magic and fun, all wrapped up in this film. Seems like the perfect family film, doesn't it?

'Dragon Quest: Your Story' will release on Netflix on February 13.

Plot

The official synopsis on Netflix for the film reads: "Luca follows in his father's footsteps to rescue his mother from evil Ladja. Finding the heavenly hero who wields the Zenithian sword is his only hope."

Takeru Sato is a Japanese actor who is best known for his leading role as Ryotaro Nogami in the 'Kamen Rider Den-O' franchise, and as Himura Kenshin in the live-action Rurouni Kenshin film and its sequels.

Kasumi Arimura is best known for playing the young Haruko Amano in 'Amachan' (2013), and the lead role in 'Strobe Edge' (2015) and 'Flying Colors' (2015).

Directors

'Dragon Quest: Your Story' is directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Makoto Hanafusa, and Ryuichi Yagi. Yamazaki has earned himself Best Director and Best Screenplay prizes at the Japanese Academy Awards for the film 'Always' in 2006. Hanafusa is known for his work on visual effects in films like 'Resident Evil: Zero' and 'Clock Tower 3'. Ryuichi Yagi is known for his work on 'Stand by Me Doraemon' (2014), 'Biohazard' (2002) and 'Clock Tower 3' (2002).
