'Dr Romantic 2' Week 5 might finally reveal why Dr Park is obsessed with beating Kim Sabu
Since the beginning of 'Dr. Romantic 2', Dr. Park Min Kook (Kim Joo-Hun) has been obsessed with not letting Kim Sabu (Han Suk-Kyu) best him at anything. In fact, in the first week of the show, when Dr. Park seems lost during a live surgery/lecture session and it seems as if he might lose the patient, it is Kim Sabu's suggestion that helps him control the surgery's positive outcome.
We also saw flashes of a scene where Kim Sabu is seen performing CPR inside a broken-down bus when the roof is about to fall in. Dr. Park also seemed to be on the same bus, but as a doctor, he was probably not able to rise to the occasion (accident) and help people. Knowing Kim Sabu, it is not surprising that he tried his best to save a human life even when his own was in danger. The promo of the upcoming episode released by SBS is a longer version of this flashback and we see Kim Sabu look around him to find many individuals passed out after what looks like a road accident.
Kim Sabu is also injured in the accident, but he is conscious. The camera, which was until then focussed on Kim Sabu, pans out and we see many injured bodies lying on the floor of the bus. Some people also try to move around and possibly find a way to escape from the bus. The promo seems to be the starting few moments right after the accident. The flashes that we have so far seen, however, are possibly towards the end because it is just Kim Sabu, his patient and Dr. Park left on the bus.
Even as people outside the bus yell at Kim Sabu to come out because the bus' roof might collapse any minute or it could catch on fire, he refuses to stop. Did leaving the bus when Kim Sabu continued to serve as a doctor prick Dr. Park's conscience? Is that why he tries so hard to ensure that Kim Sabu doesn't best him in the operation theater?
Considering the promo, the upcoming episodes of 'Dr. Romantic 2' might finally reveal the history between Kim Sabu and Dr. Park. So far, it also seems as if Kim Sabu doesn't recall Dr. Park's connection to the accident. It is only Dr. Park who keeps remembering the incident every time he is beaten/bested by Kim Sabu.
