'Dr. Romantic 2' week 6 saw tragic situations being quickly diffused into comedy on different occasions. Once, the entire hospital was brought to a halt by Kim Sabu fainting in his office. The employees panicked, so much so that even nurse Myung Shim, who rarely lets her temper rule a situation, gave a scathing sermon on how Kim Sabu worried everyone by not taking care of himself, and finally it was time to act like an adult and let a doctor take care of him.

Last week, it seemed as it Kim Sabu might be distressed due to the trauma of being in a bus accident very similar to one in his past when he was injured while saving a patient. Though he has made light of his medical condition, there is something there that needs to be addressed before Doldam Hospital loses its foundation.

Then we see Dr. Cha Eun-jae trying to distract a doctor who worked in Samjin Hospital, the same one that Seo Woo-jin worked at, from meeting Woo-jin. There is a backstory here, which has so far only been teased about. Woo-jin is known for blowing the whistle on one of his senior doctors - one of the main reasons he had found it hard to get jobs in the main hospitals despite being talented. He was seen as a man with no sense of loyalty for having outed his senior who had taken bribes among other violations of rules.

This senior doctor has now found out where Woo-jin lives and works. He has also received the task of poaching Doldam employees for Mirae Hospital that is soon to be functional. Before he begins to convince the doctors and nurses in the hospital, he tries to meet Woo-jin, and Eun-jae tries to stop this from happening as she sees nothing good coming from it. Her plan fails and the two do end up meeting. Her attempt at trying to ensure Woo-jin is far and away is amusing.

However, it is not all fun and games because Dr. Park has decided to make structural changes at the hospital. Since Kim Sabu is unwell, everyone is walking around on eggshells and in the process, Doldam Hospital might finally undergo a facelift.

The anesthesiologist Do-il has been fired, the Emergency Ward nurses have been replaced, and it comes to light that emergency patients are being turned away from the hospital to ensure that Dr. Park's VIP patients are given the best attention and care. This comes as a shock to Doldam employees who have so far run a clean and ethical operation. But with Dr. Park entering the administration, everything is undergoing a change.

Be it nurse Myung-shim or Eun-tak, no one tells Kim Sabu of all the changes that are happening because they are worried about distressing him further. So even when Woo-jin tries to report a case of medical malpractice, Kim Sabu is initially unaware, and Dr. Park in the meanwhile tries to convince Woo-jin that it is in his best interest to not make the patients or his family aware of an accident that occurred during surgery.

Woo-jin, however, had brought medical malpractice to the attention of authorities before and he wants to bring it to the patient's attention this time around.

Dr. Park, on the other hand, seems convinced that doctors should not be held responsible for mistakes, especially when such errors do not influence the patient's health negatively. He feels that such cases might end up endangering a doctor's future. When Woo-jin is not convinced, Dr. Park reveals that the surgeon who made the error is none other than Dr. Eun-jae's brother Eun-ho and this puts Woo-jin in a tight spot.

Eun-jae had all this while cheered him on in his crusade for justice and had said that irresponsible doctors have no business operating on patients.

How would she react when she learns of her brother's mistake?

Eun-jae however comes to know about this from her mother who visits her and requests her to help her brother out by convincing Woo-jin. Considering filial piety is a virtue that makes or breaks reputations, she has to give in to her mother's request. Her brother is a manipulative brat for using his mother to convince Eun-jae, but now she has to make a call - to support her brother and speak for him or to continue to be on the right side of law.

Despite all the mounting conflicts, the employees of Doldam get ready for another Friday and put their personal issues on the backburner because in Kim Sabu's hospital patients always come first.

'Dr Romantic 2' episodes air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 pm on SBS.
