What happened to Marcell Dareus on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?
Marcell, a former NFL player, entered 'Dr Pimple Popper's clinic in the hopes that Dr Lee will treat his forehead lipoma. The former defensive lineman showed the doctor a tumor on his head in Season 9, Episode 16. He was one of three patients featured in the episode, the others being Jess, a widower yearning for love who is stuck with a huge bulge on their neck, and Cherish, who grew a leopard-print face during pregnancy.
Marcell introduced his head bump to the TLC cameras, wishing to get it removed. He described it as "really annoying." He said the lump was growing down, referring to his skin lifting under his eyebrows. He added that it even made his eyeball sore. However, he said it has never bothered him, as he "never knew any pain" because of the lump.
Marcell recalls getting a big hit on his face in 2006—a nice, clean hit, as he described it. A week later, he noticed the lump, which was initially very small, for the first time in the mirror. Then, two weeks after the game, it suddenly grew in size, making him think it must be a tumor. He considered seeing his team doctor, who confirmed that the bump was a lipoma and that he should not be concerned. Despite the team doctor's assurances that Marcell would be fine, he worried about the bulge nearly every game, fearing it would burst. "I'm gonna have blood down my jersey, thinking my eye's gonna be gone," he said, explaining his anxiety. He went on to say that the bulge became a running gag for many on the squad, but it certainly took a toll on his self-esteem.
