'Dr Pimple Popper': Juan, who has cysts all over his body, once used a cactus thorn to pop a pimple on his eye
Dr Sandra Lee has been helping patients by setting up a virtual meeting. In the latest episode (October 15), she decided to meet Juan, a patient who has been suffering from a severe case of cysts. Juan revealed that he has had the problem ever since he was 13. Sharing a look at cysts that have covered his entire body, Juan admitted he has been insecure about himself.
At the same time, the biggest cysts are on the back of his neck that he has been hiding with the help of his long hair. Despite this, there are times when Juan does not feel confident. He recalled a time when he had a pimple above his eye and used a cactus thorn to pop it. Dr Lee was shocked to hear this but understood the desperateness that the situation caused.
Juan revealed there were times when he would smell and would realize that one of the pimples had popped. He used to wonder if the girl talking to him was looking at him or the cysts on him. At the same time, Juan admitted he would often look back to check if someone was starring at him.
Even while growing up, Juan didn't have an enjoyable childhood due to this condition. Since he had been having these cysts since the age of 13, school life for him did not bring back good memories. Juan revealed people in the school used to tease him by calling him boils. It reached a point where he had to drop out of high school because he could not handle the bullying.
While getting emotional, Juan admitted that he had struggled with confidence his entire life and he finally wanted to live a life where he would not have to worry about what people were thinking. After looking at his cysts, Dr Lee suggested that he might have epidermoid cysts. She revealed they have the tendency to appear in any area that has hair.
Dr Lee added that there was a possibility to remove them so they don't grow again. Juan was happy to hear this and was looking forward to meeting Dr Lee after the lockdown. 'Dr Pimple Popper' airs on Thursdays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
