'Dr Pimple Popper': Lump of coal or blackhead? Doris seeks Dr Lee's help with a 55-year-old blackhead
Doris has an uninvited guest that has taken its place on her face. Appearing in one of the previous seasons of the show, Doris revealed that she has a 55-year-old blackhead that she finally wanted to get rid of. While the blackhead has not caused her any trouble, Doris revealed she wanted to finally see her face without it.
She came in to meet Dr Sandra Lee who is known for her magical hands that can make cysts, blackheads and lipomas disappear. Speaking to Dr Lee, Doris revealed that her sister used to squeeze the blackhead. However, the last time it happened was in 1975 because when her sister tried to squeeze the blackhead, she started feeling pain. In a bid to not experience any pain, Doris decided it would be best to leave it alone. However, she changed her mind when her grandchildren asked her to get it checked. Dr Lee examined the blackhead and revealed it was a dilated pore of winer — a rare kind of blackhead that tends to get bigger in size if squeezed.
Dr Lee revealed that Doris had two options. First, to keep squeezing the blackhead out and second, to squeeze the blackhead and close the pocket that made it reappear. Dr Lee explained that the blackhead was coming back because the pocket where it was situated was not closed. To make sure that history does not repeat itself, Dr Lee thought that closing the pocket would be the best option. Doris agreed and decided to undergo the procedure. Dr Lee started by removing the blackhead. Doris said that since the blackhead had aged, it had become like a lump of coal.
Fighting hard to remove it, Dr Lee finally managed to get it out. She knocked on the table using the blackhead to hint at how hard it was. She then removed the remaining blackhead that had stuck on the wall of the pocket. Dr Lee explained that since the blackhead had been there for quite a while, it had stretched the skin.
Once she was done removing all the blackheads, Dr Lee stitched the skin to make sure there is no space for the blackhead to come back. She joked by saying Doris had done a facelift for half of her face. The end result made Doris happy and she was glad that after all these years, she finally had the blackhead removed.
