Dr Disrespect shifts to YouTube and Facebook after ban, did Twitch just let go of its biggest money-spinner?
Guy Beahm, better known as the online gamer Dr Disrespect, is the talk of the town, once again. The online streamer had the 12th most-watched channel on Twitch before he got banned by the app, in June. Now, Dr Disrepect is all set to join the horde of personalities banned by various streaming sites who are now giving Google's YouTube a try. Beahm announced his comeback on social media on August 6, with the caption, "Tomorrow, we arrive."
Beahm used to stream himself playing battle royale video games on Amazon's Twitch, now he plans to begin live streaming on his YouTube channel from August 7. Apart from that, he is also planning to experiment with Facebook gaming and streaming on his own site, ChampionsClub. The largely popular streamer made a name for himself with his charisma, antics, trash-talk and his entertaining character. His journey to being the best in the streaming world has been a long one. He had been streaming on Twitch since 2015 for which he even bagged two awards for the best streamer of the year.
In a July interview with PC Gamer, Beahm reiterated that Twitch never told him why he was banned and also that it came as a shock, "To be honest—okay, so we got the news, you know, it was just... it was completely… it was a total shock. Imagine just going to work one day and the door is closed and you can't get inside and you've been told that you were fired, and you weren't given a reason why, you know? And so, for me, it was just an initial shock. The way I discovered it, too, I was on a buddy's stream, and some of the features started turning off while I was just in the chat and everything, and then all of a sudden social media was blowing up," he said. Beahm had previously been banned temporarily by Twitch in 2019 for streaming from a men’s washroom.
As the announcement of his comeback on social media was made, fans started speculating about the 'big money', he might be getting from YouTube, one user commented, "Dr disrespect streaming a screen saver and retards are throwing money at it," while another one said, "Dr disrespect is making more money off this one YouTube stream which is probably a test run and he probably won’t even play anything or show his face than most people make in a year."

Some people made fun of the situation by saying that even if he doesn't have any content, he will still be getting money, "So Dr Disrespect started a stream on YouTube, I tune in for a bit to see if anything noteworthy happened, he had music and commercials playing on a loop, and people were still just donating loads of money, and he never showed up lol," said one Internet user.

While some even called it, Twitch's loss, "Hey @Twitch! you fu***d up Banning Dr Disrespect. Now YouTube gets to make all that money, and you will lose many more but streamers now :) Your shareholders will suffer!" said one user. Another one said, "Thinking about how last time dr disrespect got banned from twitch he had a comeback stream where he made more money than anyone ever had in a single stream and now he's about to do it again on youtube."
