Anthony Fauci calls it 'liberating' to speak now that Donald Trump's gone, Internet says 'he must be so relieved'
When Dr Anthony Fauci took the podium in the White House press briefing room on Thursday, January 21, a day after Donald Trump left the Oval Office, the Internet instantly noticed he was in a better mood. America's top infectious disease specialist did not look forlorn, dejected, miserable and downright anxious when he addressed the press. Since Joe Biden took the office of the US President, it is clear that Fauci's spirits are uplifted. And he made sure the country knows it.
Speaking to the press, announcing that he now feels free to honestly speak to about Covid-19 and the disastrous crisis, Fauci said, "I can tell you, I take no pleasure at all in being in a situation of contradicting the President," adding, "The idea that you can get up here and talk about what you know, what the evidence, what the science is -- let the science speak," he added. "It is somewhat of a liberating feeling."
Biden's new presidency has plans to handle the coronavirus pandemic by firstly committing to being "completely transparent, open and honest". Adding that he himself was guaranteed a new approach under Biden's new presidency, Fauci said, "One of the things that we’re going to do is to be completely transparent, open and honest. If things go wrong, not point fingers, but to correct them. And to make everything we do be based on science and evidence."
For Fauci, working with the Trump administration was never easy, especially considering the fact that the former president was accused of spreading false, baseless claims with little regard for science and medicine. During this recent conference, Fauci elucidated on that point too. "It was very clear that there were things said, be it regarding things like hydroxychloroquine and other things like that, that really was uncomfortable because they were not based in scientific fact."
"One of the things new with this administration is if you don't know the answer, don't guess," he said. "Just say you don't know the answer."
And there is no doubt that this change in Fauci's demeanor is more than evident, it did not escape social media's eagle eyes. "Id you see how happy Dr. Fauci was today? Thank you @POTUS for bringing science back to the Coronavirus fight," one tweeted to Biden. "Fauci all out here with childish glee and it’s adorbs," another pointed out. "FAUCI FOREVER! I didn’t realize the man could smile. He must be so relieved. Onward!" another added taking into account Fauci's appearance during previous press conferences.

When a reporter asked a follow-up question seeking to clarify about the "jokes" that Fauci made about 'feeling liberated' from the Trump administration, Fauci responded, "But you said I was joking about it, I was very serious. I wasn't joking... It is somewhat of a liberating feeling."
"Dr. Fauci has that post break-up glow about him," one added accompanied by a slo-mo video of Fauci taking to the podium. There are so many remarks about the specialist having physically changed since the last time he was seen in a conference. "Did Dr. Fauci drop 10 years? He looks so young!" one pointed out. "I wish I looked as young as Dr Fauci is looking now," another concurred.
