'Doubling Down With the Derricos': Deon has to take care of 11 children without Karen, can he handle it?
Karen and Deon Derrico have always been a team when it comes to taking care of their 11 children. The two have managed to come up with a perfect plan that allows them to divide work and conquer everything. Unfortunately, things had to change in the household when Karen was informed that she would have to be on bed rest as she goes through her latest pregnancy.
Fearing it might be difficult for her to get some rest in the house, the pair made the decision of moving her into a hospital. However, with Karen going away for nearly two months, it meant that Deon had to step up in the household and take care of all 11 children. At first, Deon thought things would be easy, but he knew that a mother's shoes are hard to fill.
Within a matter of a few hours, he understood how things were getting tough. With all the 11 children having different needs, Deon was feeling pulled in 11 different directions. He also had to take care of his business and juggling home and work was getting difficult. While he was getting help from his oldest daughter Darian, Deon tried to make sure that he did not ask much from the teen. Keeping this in mind, taking care of the children majorly landed on him. After spending nearly five days taking care of the children alone, Deon finally decided to seek some help.
He decided to call his mother, GG for some help. As soon as she arrived, Deon was happy as he knew things would get better. At the same time, Darian was also happy to see GG in the house as the two share a strong bond. Darian revealed that since she does not have an older sibling, she loves to spend time with her grandmother.
GG too admitted that she was looking forward to spending more time with the grandchildren. With Karen in the hospital, GG knew that she had to help take care of the house and she was ready to take the responsibility as Deon went and spent time with Karen while also taking care of his work.
