'Doomsday Mom': DNA expert testifies Lori Vallow’s hair found on tape wrapped around dead son’s body

BOISE, IDAHO: In bombshell testimony on May 1, a DNA expert revealed that Lori Vallow's hair had been found on duct tape that had been used to wrap her son Joshua JJ Vallow, seven. Senior DNA analyst Keeley Coleman from Bode Technology in Virginia said in court that she had looked at three DNA profiles connected to the case, including Lori Vallow's.
The 'Doomsday Mom,' Lori Vallow Daybell, is on trial for her alleged involvement in the murders of her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan, her seven-year-old son Joshua JJ Vallow, in 2019, and her husband's previous spouse Tammy Daybell. The mother-of-three is on trial in the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho, for first-degree murder, plotting against the government, and grand theft.

Coleman also tested the DNA profiles of Daybell's former best friend Melanie Gibb against the hair sample of Tylee Ryan. Tylee was discovered in a shallow grave at the residence of Chad Daybell pet graveyard, Vallow Daybell's spouse, in Rexburg, Idaho.
“The partial DNA profile matched the DNA profile provided for Lori Vallow Daybell,” Coleman testified. “The probability of randomly selecting a random individual in relation to that profile is one in 71 billion,” New York Post reported.
Chad Daybell, who is also charged in connection with the deaths, and Vallow Daybell are both accused of being members of a doomsday cult and holding the belief that the end of the world was near.
How JJ was put to death?
The details surrounding the deaths of Tylee Ryan and Joshua JJ Vallow are horrifying. As previously reportedly by MEAWW, the seven-year-old boy whose body was found in a garbage bag in Daybell's backyard in 2020 was suffocated to death with a plastic bag wrapped around his head. He had bruises on his wrists and stretch marks on his neck due to his attempts to break free while his mouth, arms, and hands were also bound with duct tape as per the coroner. Low concentrations of ethanol, the date-rape drug GHB, caffeine, and theobromine were discovered in the toxicology report.
Tylee's body had 'melted'
Moreover, Angi Christensen an FBI forensic scientist revealed last week that Tylee's remains had been gnawed on by an animal and cut with a tool before being torched. Her body parts were melted and as per on report the coroner revealed the autopsy on her was impossible.
The 'chosen' ones
Previously, prosecutors revealed that Lori Vallow's brother left fingerprints on the bag that had been used to wrap JJ's body, indicating that he had been involved in the crime. In another disturbing revelation, prosecutors alleged that Lori Vallow had helped her husband Chad Daybell kill his first wife, Tammy Daybell, in order to collect on her life insurance policy. Lori as described by the prosecution "a woman who saw herself as a godlike figure and believed that she and her husband had been chosen to lead the 144,000 people who would be saved when the world ended."
