President Donald J Trump's recent golf trip has sparked outrage on social media after it emerged that the second stimulus package deadline has been missed amid the coronavirus crisis. There have been several discussions concerning the second stimulus package over the last couple of weeks. Although lawmakers have been attempting to pass the much-needed package, no concrete decision has yet been made. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had previously set a deadline for stimulus legislation to pass on August 7.

Reports state that one of the biggest points of contention for the next stimulus package is associated with unemployment benefits. Americans, under the CARES Act, are eligible to receive an additional $600 per week in unemployment benefits, however, those benefits expired on July 31, without a plan in place.

One social media user wrote: "Schumer — Trump plays golf as Americans starve, get evicted, and die from a pandemic whose impact could surely have been lessened, if not avoided had he taken action! The only thing standing between Americans and another #StmulusCheck is #Trump #McConnell & the #ComplicitGOP."

"And the worst president in history goes golfing again in New Jersey. How many weekends in the past 2 months did Trump go golfing while people are dying and losing their homes etc?" another user wrote.

While a third added: "While Americans are facing evictions and do not know where their next meal will come from, trump took off and went golfing. He does not give a rat’s behind about anyone!"

"Trump could’ve stopped the madness, but no, he goes golfing... So let’s say only 5% get covid, that’s another 12,500 who will transmit it to perhaps 3 others as they travel home across the country. That’d be 37,500 more to get it THIS IS INSANE- 50,000 more infections at minimum," another user wrote.

While suggested that Trump has been golfing every weekend in the coronavirus crisis. "And Trump has been golfing every weekend while 161,000 people have died from a virus that he has ignored, except those that are in close contact," a user wrote.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had also slammed Trump last week by calling the novel coronavirus the "Trump virus," in an escalation of her rhetoric over Trump's handling of the Covid-19 crisis in the country. Pelosi made her remarks while appearing on CNN's 'The Situation Room'. "Well, I think with the president's comments today, he recognized the mistakes he has made by now embracing mask-wearing and the recognition this is not a hoax," she said. It is a pandemic that has gotten worse before it will get better because of his inaction. In fact, clearly, it is the Trump virus." The Democrat leader reiterated the phrase later in the interview as well.

Pelosi had made the statement while responding to Trump's briefing at the White House where he praised the use of face masks and urged Americans to wash their hands and practice physical distancing to curb the spread of the deadly virus. The Republican, during his first coronavirus-focus White House briefing in almost three months, warned that the outbreak of the virus in the country will "get worse before it gets better." His remark came as multiple parts of the country are witnessing coronavirus surges in recent weeks.
