Donald Trump says he 'loves women', reveals secret to being good in bed in old interview: 'The look is important'
Though the former first couple, Donald and Melania Trump, are now out of the spotlight and receded to a comparatively quieter life in Mar-a-Lago, their Palm Beach resort in Florida, interest about how the former president perceived relationships and his alleged flings with several women is still very much alive.
Most of the comments that he made in past interviews, especially regarding his personal life, were of a controversial nature. One such interview from 2008, which was conducted by British broadcaster Piers Morgan and featured in a GQ article was no different. At the time Trump was a TV personality and a famous Manhattan business mogul and Morgan had just won his show 'The Celebrity Apprentice'.
During the interview, Trump was asked whether he was a “woman-holic” by the 'Good Morning Britain' co-host. Trump rejected the claim but admitted that he did “love women”. "I respect them, I think they're magnificent and I don't just mean their physical beauty," he added. Trump also went onto describe why he thought women were attracted to him. According to him, he knew “a lot of rich people” – who he described as “rich, smart, cunning guys” who couldn’t get “a woman to go out with them”.
He even recalled setting-up one of his wealthy friends with a former Miss Universe participant, but the plan backfired. “This guy has got his beautiful houses, his cars – he has got everything money can buy," he said, adding that it took a lot of convincing to get the "top model" to agree to go on one date with his friend as “a big favor”. The model apparently called him later and told him, “Never make me do that again – just don't waste my time with guys like this.”
Trump said that he was shocked because the guy, who had more money than he could spend, used to eat "financial geniuses for a living” and “beats up guys with his head”. However, he, unfortunately, suffered “lockjaw” in front of beautiful women. Although the said guy pleaded with Trump to set him up for a second date, the former POTUS refused. "I know a lot of very rich guys who can't go out with a girl twice because they're so boring," he said.
As for him, Trump believed his own “success with women” was attributable to “understanding how life works”. "I've seen people go up and down and get sick and so on. I know the game, I have a good sense of the street," he boasted. When he was asked by Morgan to reveal his “secret to being good in bed," Trump claimed there were “a lot of secrets” but most of all a person has to nail “the look”. He then referenced his friend Don King, the boxing promoter, who also was “a believer in ‘the look'".
Elaborating further, Trump added that a person didn’t “have to look like Cary Grant” but needed to “have a certain way” about them and “a stature”. “I see successful guys who just don't have ‘the look’ and they are never going to go out with great women," he said. “‘The look’ is important, I don't really like to talk about it because it sounds very conceited – but it matters!”
At some point during the interview, Melania came up and Trump described her as “a great wife", adding that they had “a great relationship”. However, in the very next minute, he tried to dodge a question about whether he thought he was a “good husband” by describing himself as “a great father”. However, after Morgan pressed on, Trump admitted: “I think I'm a good husband now, it's not easy for someone competing with my business.”
