Donald Trump's DC hotel jacks up prices by 5 times for Joe Biden's inauguration, even higher for January 6
President Donald Trump's Washington, D.C. hotel has hiked up its prices for the nights surrounding President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration. A basic room at the Trump International Hotel is priced at more than $2,000 on inauguration day, January 20, as well as on the preceding day, the 19th. It will cost more than $1,000 for a guest to stay there on January 18 and 21.
But for most nights in January, you can book a room for around $400 in the hotel. The hotel also demands a two-night minimum stay during the inauguration.
The hotel, which is housed in the Old Post Office building on 11th Street N.W. and Pennsylvania Avenue, does boast a prime viewing spot for a traditional inauguration. It is located just a block north of the National Mall, where the new president is sworn-in and is along the inauguration day parade route. A receptionist at the hotel, who spoke to a Politico reporter, had said that the hotel wasn't offering inauguration specials, nor were there any private events planned.
The Trump Organization had attempted to sell its lease on the D.C. property earlier this year but eventually, put the sale on hold after no offers came close to the $500 million asking price. The hotel has 263 luxury rooms, including the 6,300-square-foot 'Trump Townhouse' at $100,000 a night, with a five-night minimum.
President Trump has yet to concede the election to President-elect Joe Biden. He missed his own New Year mask-less bash featuring Vanilla Ice at Mar-a-Lago to be in Washington D.C. for the crucial January 6 vote and debate. He is also yet to reveal whether he will attend Biden's inauguration. However, Trump did announce on New Year's Day that he would be hosting a "BIG Protest Rally" in Washington, D.C. He has also issued calls to supporters to converge on D.C. on the date.
The BIG Protest Rally in Washington, D.C., will take place at 11.00 A.M. on January 6th. Locational details to follow. StopTheSteal!

The Trump International Hotel has always been a hub for Trump followers and supporters. Frequent guests include the president's lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle. Trump, himself, occasionally grabs dinner there, seated overlooking the grand lobby bar.
Therefore it is no surprise that the hotel has hiked prices even higher for January 6 and the night before. On January 1, prices were hovering around $3,500 a night for January 6. The city will attract Trump supporters across the country for several protest marches. The Proud Boys, members of armed right-wing groups, conspiracy theorists and white supremacists have pledged to attend some of these protest rallies and there might be violence on the streets.
