President Donald Trump is being trolled on Twitter for "finally" building his wall after a new fence was set up around the White House on June 4. The security perimeter around the White House has constantly been expanding ever since the death of George Floyd. The 46-year-old Floyd died after a now-former police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for a sickening 8 minutes though he repeatedly said he couldn't breathe.

As Trump fortified himself, Twitter users could not help but find Trump's "wall" amusing which they compared to the US-Mexico border wall that Trump has spent the last four years harping on. One user shared, "Trump finally built his wall. Mexico, expect a bill in the mail. #TrumpOut2020 #trumpwall," along with a picture of the new fencing. Another wrote, "Well Trump finally gets a wall, and now if they add some barbed wire fencing and watchtowers we can all be happy!"

"@realDonaldTrump. The man clearly loves fences and walls. Fenced in and walled out. Of course, paid for by the taxpayers. It’s time for leadership that unifies America," wrote another user. "They really need to start bringing those walls in closer so he can acclimate to being in a cell," a user wrote. "Hey @realDonaldTrump, did Mexico pay for the fence erected around the White House?!?" joked another.

The new fencing was seen arriving in a truck and was being installed by workers who were seen sporting orange vests. Some social media users saw his decision to have the White House fenced further a sign of weakness while a few said it was a sign of strength. According to the Dean of the Yale School of Architecture, Deborah Berke, "I think the need to fortify your house — and it's not his house, it's our house — shows weakness. The president of the United States should not feel threatened by his or her own citizens," reported The Washington Post.

A Twitter user said, "First Trump Builds a walk along Mexico's Border. Now he is Building a Wall of Fence in Washington, DC, so citizens can't get near the WH. He is afraid of the American Public and is showing his fear. He doesn't own the WH, the people do and he doesn’t want to see them. Stupid."

A US Secret Service Spokesperson said in a statement, "These closures are in an effort to maintain the necessary security measures surrounding the White House complex, while also allowing for peaceful demonstration." The statement added, "The areas, including the entire Ellipse and its side panels, roadways and sidewalks, E Street and its sidewalks between 15th and 17ths Streets, First Division Monument and State Place, Sherman Park and Hamilton Place, Pennsylvania Avenue between 15th and 17th streets, and all of Lafayette Park, will remain closed until June 10."

We had earlier reported that Trump chose to lay low in the secret bunker in the White House as the nation protests the death of George Floyd.  In response to all the backlash he received, Trump decided to take the matter in his own hands and revamp his image.
