MAR-A-LAGO, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump teased a forthcoming event with a superhero-themed video on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, luring his Truth Social followers with the hope of a huge announcement the next day.

The 76-year-old stated in the 15-second video that "America needs a superhero!" The former president appeared in an animated video, posing like Superman in front of Trump Tower, ripping up his suit to show a sculpted T-logo bodysuit and laser eyes, with strange music. The video ends with text that reads "MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT" on December 15, 2022.

According to New York Post, Trump has used popular culture to promote his agenda on several occasions, including the bizarre video. He famously tweeted a meme inspired by 'Game of Thrones' in November 2018 to tease sanctions on Iran. He also tweeted a video made by a fan in April 2019 that was set to the soundtrack of the 2012 movie 'The Dark Knight Rises' and was targeted toward his celebrity critics.

Trump announced his third consecutive bid for president on November 15, but his campaign has been dogged by a number of self-inflicted scandals and has so far, failed to rekindle the media fervor that accompanied his first run in 2015 and 2016.

No one knows the reason behind Trump's video and it is being speculated that since he already announced running for president, now it could be him becoming the speaker of the house or returning to Twitter. One theory is that Trump would announce his return to Twitter after CEO Elon Musk restored his account on November 19.

In an effort to overturn his loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, Trump's followers invaded the Capitol on January 6. Trump, who founded Truth Social the previous year, was then banned from Twitter. Other scenarios include Trump announcing his potential running mate or launching a long-shot attempt of becoming a speaker of the House of Representatives, a position that doesn't require an officeholder to be a House member.

Internet is puzzled over Trump's video

Filmmaker Rob Reiner tweeted, "Trump says he’s going to make a major announcement tomorrow. Unless he admits to being responsible for leading an Armed Insurrection to Overthrow the United States Government, there will be nothing major about it."

A user said, "That he’s going to be Speaker of the House? He’s announcing his running mate? He’s back on Twitter? No matter how huge or small, I am looking forward to it." One person wrote, "He is going to finally announce that in two week he will reveal his healthcare plan?"

Another user said, "Hoping he’ll be heroic enough to drop out." One user tweeted, "He's dropping out and endorsing DeSantis?" Twitter was flooded with guesses. One wrote, " Running as Independent? - Running mate? DeSantis? other?"

One user quipped, "That he learned how to pronounce "yesterday"? Another joked, "I think he’s going to announce that he is still president and Joe Biden was played by an actor and voice overs and Joe Biden is just wearing a Biden mask who looks like him. I don’t know, just took a wild guess."

Another said, "That he's guilty for the insurrection on Jan 6th 2020 and is willing to go to jail for life."
