Trump releases second-term agenda with 50 'core priorities', Internet slams bid to 'teach American exceptionalism'

On the eve of the Republican National Convention 2020 on August 23, 2020, the Trump campaign released a list of pointers of President Trump’s “core priorities” for a second term after the Republican National Committee opted not to adopt a new platform for 2020.
The 50 pointers focused on points like, “create 10 million new jobs in 10 months”, “lower prescription drug prices", a proposal to launch space force, a proposal to “teach American exceptionalism” in public schools and many more. It also highlighted that companies that outsource to China shouldn’t get federal contracts and Trump wants to “hold China fully accountable for allowing the virus to spread around the world,” though it doesn’t say how. The proposals proposed, especially around health made some huge promises claiming big plans to develop a vaccine by the end of 2020 and “return to normal in 2021,” cut prescription drug prices and lower health care premiums and “cover all pre-existing conditions.” But one pointer which the Americans couldn't help disagree on seemed to be the proposal to “teach American exceptionalism”.

As soon as the proposal was released, the Internet started slamming the specific pointer, as public school teachers tweeted, "As a teacher, "Teach American Exceptionalism" is just bad. American exceptionalism is a lie rooted in White supremacism and an erasure of the many atrocities in our history," while another one said, "I'm a teacher and I promise to NEVER teach American Exceptionalism. I will teach my students to be critical thinkers and informed consumers of information."

While a parent slammed the proposal and said, "I don't want my kids' schools to "Teach American Exceptionalism". I want them to teach history, science, humanities, arts, languages, and an appreciation & understanding of all people & cultures. We live in a global community & I want my kids prepared, not indoctrinated," while another one slammed it by saying, ""Teach American Exceptionalism". No, really. That's the plan. This 50 point list is not a plan for a second term. It's what 15-year-olds make to plan out what they want their summer to look like."

Another parent slammed the plan and said, "Trump's educational plan is to teach American exceptionalism. I can't be the only American who is actually embarrassed at our arrogance. I want my kids learning about culture, and world successes not just our own. I also want them learning about our flaws" and "because every nation has them and without learning from ours we are bound to repeat them. Let's not brainwash our children. I'm all for patriotism. But not like this."

While some LOLed at the pointers and said, "LOL. "Teach American Exceptionalism." "Bring Our Troops Home," but also "Wipeout Global Terrorists." How? Not a word about deterring Russia." While another mocked the president by saying, "“Teach American Exceptionalism” That’s cute coming from a government that’s a world leader in being unable to stop the spread of Covid"."
LOL.

Some even found it embarrassing and said, "This would be adorable if it was a last-minute outline from a high school student who forgot it was due the next day. Instead, it’s just embarrassing, and shows how inept this WH is at everything," while another one mocked him and said, "Whole lot of bullshit here but I do agree with congressional term limits and guy they already teach "American Exceptionalism" in our schools and its not a good thing."."

While some said that, "Teach American Exceptionalism," sounds like dumb people are just trying to sound smart, ""Teach American Exceptionalism" If that doesn’t sound like dumb people trying to sound smart... Brought to you from the folks that brought us @FLOTUS tag line: Be Best. Or was it be butter? Either way, I’m intolerant. Not lactose, idiot intolerant. 50 points, here’s one now."
